laser tooth whitening, anyone had it?

I want to get my mom this procedure as a gift but before I mention it I want to make sure it works and would like to know HOW good it actually is. She has extremely bad stains from cigarette smoking (about 30 years worth) and something needs to be done soon. I feel horrible knowing her teeth are this bad. Someone please help. Any info on laser treatment is greatly appreciated...

I dont recommend this procedure. People ALWAYS compliment me on my perfect buttercorn teeth.

The only benefit to the Laser is that it is accelerated, meaning it can be done in one sitting. It is much more expensive and will typically last from 6mos-1year and then needs to be redone. The home pro whitening kits- (see link) are cool in that once you have your mold, you can redo it as needed for much, much cheaper with the same overall effect.

Overall the laser treatment would be a nice gift, though.

Had this done a while ago. Pretty expensive but 60% was paid by my insurance. Very effective. If you have the money then go for it.

Worked good. but It was the worst pain in my life that night. Lortabs, percocets, tylnol 3's didnt help at all. I wont ever do it again.
