If ullrich didn`t crash he would have won right? he did crash tho so it dont matter i spose

ok i like Lance and dont hate on me for saying this.....Jan Urlich's team isnt as good as Lance's team (postal US team) and in the team time trial stage, each team takes the last place finisher of there team. so Jan's team took a bad time while Lance's team(who is a better team then Jan's) had a better time by about 63 seconds if i can remember. and Lance fell, when he fell in a mountian stage and the goup slowed down on purpose to let him catch up ( IT IS AN UN WRITEN RULE OF CYCLING) ( JUST LIKE IN BASBEALL U DONT STEAL BASES WHEN YOUR TEAM IS WINNING 13- 3) if Jan didnt fall in the time trial stage 19 and had a better team he would have won...IMO just my 2 cents

At each check point Lance and Ullrich were seperated by only seconds. They almost had the same avg speed during the time trail, Ullich's crash lost him 11 secs to Lance without the crash they both probably would have finished close together. Lance won the Tour in the moutain stage after he crashed and Ullirch could not keep up.

In the team time trial they take the time of the 5th team member across the line.
