Lemme re-phrase this...
There's this huge chick that works out where I work and we got to talking about fat burners. She started talking about popping 9-12 pills a day because this particular pill that she's taking burns fat while it retains muscle mass. I said, "Really? What's in it that makes you retain muscle mass while you burn fat?" To which she responded, "I don't know, I'm just going by what the company tells me!"
It left me wondering... if she doesn't have any clue what's in her fat burners, then how does she know she's not slowly killing herself or destroying her body with whatever else she's taking? Very scary...
I bring this up because there are a lot of people on this board that are new to fitness/bodybuilding/supplementation, etc. PLEASE know what you're putting into your body. DON'T just take something because a) someone tells you to or b) it sounds like a good idea. EDUCATE YOURSELF. If you don't know enough to carry on a conversation about the supplement, Google it. Know what the ingredients are and how they will affect your body. Know how and why it should work. Know what the side effects are. Most importantly, USE COMMON SENSE. If it sounds like a crock of shit, it probably is.
