Juic'n and addicted to oxycordone [perks]

the thing most people dont realize is that it takes approx. 2 weeks to go through withdrawls but it takes the amount of time youve been on the opiates for your body to stop craving it. if you have been on for 1 year it will take one year for your body to stop craving and that is the time frame you have to be aware of that you have the biggest chance to relapse. the longer you stay on the longer it takes for your body to completely clear the substance.

you may also want to consider a methadone matinence program. it is a long acting opiate (24-36 hour duration), which means you take it once a day. there is no 'high' associated with it and it allows you to focus on other elements of your life that do not include drugs. yes you will eventually have to get off the methadone do a google search or speak to a doc. about it. methadone has saved many peoples lives.

First thing to do is stop, but since it's unrealistic to go cold turkey due to physical withdrawals. I know of at least three friends of mine who have successfully used Methadone to stay clean long enough to make it throught the worst of it, and it wasn't that difficult to get.
If you are lucky enough to have the choice, I would suggest that you take your oxycodone without the tylenol in it, such as by using oxycontin, if it's available. The tylenol in percs is what is really damaging to the liver from what I've read, so taking oxycodone without acetaminophen it in would go a long way in aiding your recovery. As a general rule, the smaller the pill, the easier on your liver it should be. But that's like saying "if your gonna bang heroin, use a clean needle". Taking no pills at all is the only "safe" thing to do.

But this thread did bring up a question in my mind that maybe someone could answer for me, and you may think I'm dumb for asking, but I'm going to ask it anyway. Do injectables get metabolized by the liver, meaning they put stress on the liver that can damage it? I thought I was doing allright by just not taking orals, but am I wrong?
I should know this, but I don't.

Anyway, Good luck with your recovery. You are not alone in your battle with opiates. If you're strong willed, you can overcome it and be proud that you did.

Passes once with injects orals twice....

I think Methadone is for the most part, a bad choice for someone who is hooked on pills. Not always but for the most part. Your basically trading one pill addiction for another. And Yes, you can get a buzz off of Methadone too, anyone who has taken it will tell you that. Plus, Methadone is harder to withdraw off of vs. shorter half life drugs that contain hydrocodone or oxycodone.
The positive side to Methadone is that someone manages your intake for you, you shouldn't be able to take more than what is given to you, but as any former addicts know, when you want more you find a way to get it. Other positive is for heroin addicts, trading heroin addiction for Methadone addiction is a good thing in my opinion.
Best thing anyone can do that are hooked on opiates is to get professional help if they aren't strong enough to quit on their own,.... I wasn't.

Yeah, man I've been there but with 80mg Oxycontin - much, much, much stronger so I know how hard it is. Not trying to tell you that your withdrawls aren't painful but there is hope. I've been clean of opiates for just going on 3 years.

First you need help. Search out everything in your area. You don't have to go 12 step either because I didn't and it worked for me.

Trust me though. You are killing yourself. I can only imagine how much you have to take to keep going and it will only keep increasing. Killing your liver.

Good Luck.

I'v managed to get my self addicted to percacet in the last year and its to hard to come off,i tryed and i'm to far in the withdrawels r to much to take. What i'v heard is that between steroids and my pill promblem my liver and kidneys wont last very long and i could be really killing my self. Is this true or am i worring about nothing? Any wise words would be motivating

Painkiller withdrawals are short lived 2-3 weeks mine only about two weeks. It was and is worth it. I quit nicotine too those withdrawals lasted what seemed like n eternity. many of us in here have been in your shoes!

Like has been said, there is a med that will help with the wd's. I have a friend that quit nb using this med. He cut his dose slowly, they went cold turkey with the anti w/d meds. Good luck bro.

You need to go to your Doctor and get SUBOXENE. It's available in 8mgs and 2mgs, if you're a full blown addict( won't get out of bed unless you can pop 5-6) then you should go with 8mg. This drug is specifically designed for opiate addiction, and it's unbelievable how well it works for w/d's. And just like others said, you gotta man-up and fight the fight. Once you beat the addiction, you'll look back on the things you would do( lie, cheat, steal) just to get high..... then it'll hit you how big of a Dirt bag you once were.

The main thing i think BC pointed out is you have to go away so you can't cop... Point blank! Everyone that i have known to be addicted had to go away for a month or so like with any other serious addiction.. A big point also is how these addictive meds are approved for consumption by the FDA. While other stuff become classed as illegal.. I now know more people who have ruined there lives from oxy's and perc etc.. than any other street level drug offered on the streets...
