A common misbelief. In addition to being the gateway between the digestive tract and the blood stream, the liver also filters the entire volume of the body's blood every 30 minutes.

The methyl group on the 17 carbon atom of a 17AA steroid makes it much more difficult for the liver to deactivate it. So when you take it orally, most of it makes it from the digestive tract through the liver. Similarly, the 17AA steroid that is in the bloodstream will keep passing through the liver until all of it is deactivated.

In theory, injecting is slightly less toxic to the liver since the steroid absorbs more slowly into the bloodstream and you avoid the high concentration "spike" that you get with an oral dose. Of course the more you split up your daily dosage with an oral, the closer you get to the injected model.

I was mainlining nubain 6-8x a day and 2x in the middle of the night for years and I quit cold turkey. Pills should be a breeze by comparison. Everybody's threshold of pain and discomfort is different I guess???
