I dont kno much about judo but when i go to college bjj will most likley not be available to me,.,, so i will probbaly train judo..how is judo as a form of self defense? and how is it similar to bjj?

anything u kno about judo..let me know..

thanx

Judo is more sport oriented, less groundwork more throws. It is pretty interesting tho, bjj is too overrated in my opinion anywayz.

If you like bjj you'll like judo. Judo is based on throws 1st and matwork 2nd. You ca not use knee or ankle locks in judo whereas pins , chokes, and armbars are allowed.

Personally I like Judo for self defense. A throw or trip and end the fight quickly. Or at least make it possible to get away.

As an alternative, perhaps you could try to find an art that deals with striking as well. Boxing or Muay Thai would be cool.

yea im looking into a striking art,,, soon i will train with my bjj instructor on some thai kicks mixed with tradition kickboxing..

at school i will try to find whatever is availale though..

i like judo and boxing for self defense. you have the ability to make some awesome throws and still hit like a jackhammer,
