Stuffing in cals sucks, I have to do it......typically carbs are more fun to eat, so a lot of guys just eat their steak/chicken/fish/whatever first like it is their job, then go to town on everything else as the idea is that anybody can scarf down things like mashed potatoes, etc etc.......What I do so I don't get full is inhale, lol......if I don't give my brain time to signal that I'm full, it's good.

Fat is IMO what is more filling than P & C ... Carbs honestly can make you more hungry, when you're not eating a bulker like you of course lol

most of my fat bunz comes from olive oil or anpb...85% of my carbs are oats...quick and easy and packs in the cals i need! but i have trouble with rice...never really had much of a jones for it....now the macaroni and cheese i had last night...that be a different story woman! lol
 
ok...went to the therapist yesterday and it was very interesting to say the least. i learned alot and i am happy that this guy know's what the hell he's talking about....he actually sat me down and spoke to me for about an hour about things we were going to try...stretching, working out, posture etc etc. he explained to me why i feel the way i do and not just what it is that is causing my pain.

i'm going to go twice a week after work and hopefully in 6 weeks i'll feel a little better. somethign that concerned me was when the doc asked if i had shoulder surgery...i replied yes...torn labrum...he told me my right scapula is noticeably smaller then my left...ok now i'm pretty pissed off :mad: .

i have no clue how to get this back to normal.....maybe i can use tre's help with this? not sure but i had my fiance take a pic of my back not flexed and i can tell the difference. so for me right now this is an issue that needs to be addressed. not sure how to get this back on par...:(
 
thx ck....too self conscious about it though....when my back is flexed i think it looks pretty good. but not flexed you can def tell it's lagging...

SOOOOOO, I posted pics of my fat ass from march and a picture of me eating a rib! I was self conscious too, but the advice I got surpassed being self conscious! .....

but then I understand :heart: but then...

I am sure you are being extremely to hard on yourself. :)

Where's the picture, and I am laughing.... O.k. ask yourself how a labrum tear equals a smaller shoulder blade?!?!? labrum = cartilage, shoulder blade = bone
That's like apples and oranges. I think the guy used the wrong terminology.
Maybe one shoulder blade wings out more... but that can be balanced out by manipulation...

I dunno about you, but ever since I got deep tissue.. my posture has improved Drastically... seriously. It's no shamless "plug" or anything... i'm serious... real results... I need another dang massage soon, my hands are going numb again... stoopid things.

they actually offer deep tissue massges at the physical therapy place i'm going to...unfortunately it's not covered under my insurance :evil:

it's def worth a try... ;)

The muscle that causes the wingining is your Serratus Anterior. I haven't got to that muscle yet in my muscle anatomy thread but it attaches to the first 3-8 ribs give or take a rib depending on the individual, and attaches to the anterior side of the scapula. When the muscle is overly contracted the shoulder blade will begin to wing out. Not an abnormal thing to see on the table. A good quality Massage therapist can actually with a few treatments assist in bringing it back in by loosening specifically that muscle, and working with the other muscle imbalances around the shoulder blade. I'm not talking deep tissue massage. It's called specifically Neuro-muscular therapy and that's what I specialize in. As far as the shoulder imbalance and noticeably smaller muscles in the area.... I'm taking a general approach to what is typical.. but most people need to strengthen the posterior rotator cuff by doing a bent over row, or reverse pec dec machine shall help in that area. Simultaneously doing some chest stretching will help bring the shoulder back to its original position and not torqued forward by the stronger pec major muscles. It is about posture so the physical therapist is right for sure on that.

- ok so i took a pic of my back not flexed last niight and it came out like shit...way too dark but it looked ok when i looked before i put it on the computer. anyway...there really isn't that big of a difference...nothign to really get a twist over....i'll have to yell at this guy who said that next time i go there.

anyway..184lbs now up from 163 a month ago...i can't believe i put on this much weight...not going to be fun stripping it away again but i want to be around 7.5%bf at that weight of 163 next time. i think i was a little under 9%bf at 163 before i started bulking. anyway...we'll see!

i had no clue how to get the camara off the black and white shit lol.....whatever. i look bigger in color :chomp: you can def tell that i lost some lines though....i've been in 2 weddings in the last month and the first measurement for my neck was 16.5...i went this past monday and it was 17....

... You look great dude... I would keep doing what you're doing, you're bound to get "soft" on a bulk (clean or not)... not all the extra calories we intake will be put to building muscle... If you clean up the diet and train as heavy as your body allows you could get some body comp changes out of this and NET some great muscle gains overall.

Good to see my man Pichino graceing your homes wall too :beer:

so i should prob be doing some more bent over laterals then huh? on avg i do about 2sets per week...i'll bump it up to 6 sets a week. i'll also check this neuro therapy out...not sure if my insurance will cover it though....hhmmm.

i know i def gotta start stretching more...he mentioned that would help with this as well.

thx bro...appreciate the feedback! yeah i def got softer...but i def got thicker too so.....that is what i wanted :chomp: i'm def training as hard as my body will let me....i'm lifting about 10-20 more pounds on everything with the same strict form!

and if you look in the back you'll see the godfather pic over my bed hahahaha!!!

lol...thx ck! trust me i'm sure there is nothing for him to get jealous about. i wish the color pics came out right...for some reason they wouldn't download. i think they look better then the black and white ones....bigger and softer looking....more accurate. i was going to take some more last night but my aunt had a heart attack and was in the hospital all night...she's having a double bi-pass surgery done this morning....hopefully everything works out.

Don't even think about her ab comment.........number 1 most overrated muscle and the number 1 reason many fail..........too worried about the abs...looking good in an xl tee, or suit or whatever is 100x better than abs..trust me, it killed me for the longest time/ You have sure shirt off .0001 of the time while you are clothed 99%...........focus on mass bro, dont get sloppy but eat and train hard!

I agree with you.. All he needs is a little more work on the abs just to gain more definition etc.. He would look amazing in a suit and without a suit.. focusing on mass.. I agree, and keep the diet up to scratch..

Overall look is great anyway.. ;)

What Sarge said. You are really TOO hard on yourself. I am telling you from experience with my little bulker (16 weeks worth) . Get it OUT of your head that you look bad, fat, feel bloated etc. IMO you will experience ALL of those things from time to time ESP when you are eating for it, clean OR dirty, doesn't matter. But you are training for it as well... You will easily cut, You know this.

Great job on the posting the pics!! How long you running this bulker for? Through the winter?

ok...i've been gone for like 3 days from the website and it feels like an eternity lol my aunt was in the hospital....she had to have triple bi pass surgery....they thought only 2 were clogged but when they got in there it was 3. thank god she is doing much better....the only thing that concerns me is that heart disease runs in my family...my aunt and uncle have died in the past 4 years from heart attacks...so needless to say we were all pretty nervous about this surgery. but she is fine the docs say....and hopefully will be up and baout soon :)

thank you guys for your thoughts and concerns sb and ck!....your guys are a great support!!! and also thanks everyone for their comments on the pics i took. i feel like everyone wants to look a certain way and won't be happy until they reach that point....that's all i'm trying to do.

i agree....it pissed me off to see my abs dissappear during the bulk cycle but i kept up with it...and the funny thing is i did go from a large to xl hahaha. my fiance bought me some shirts for my birthday and i was like honey they don't fit...what size did ou get me lol/ she had to return them and get xl

thx bunz! i'm actually going to start my cutting as of today....i did the bulk for a little over 4 weeks....if i kept on this bulk i would be 200 lbs by xmass no doubt...lol. my weight is 182lbs as of this morning....

Glad your aunt is better!! :heart: My best friends dad has had triple bypass.. Exactly what your aunt had done recently!

She does need to concentrate on her diet alot.. No butter nothing high in fat bascially!

Lots of fresh fish.. No SMOKING, A glass of red wine is good.. She should take aspirin everyday! ;)

Day 1 Cutting Diet!

so i started my 4 week bulk cycle at 163 lbs a tad under 9% bf. as of this morning i am 182lbs...not sure about bf...i'm guessing like 13%. i'll check later tonight. i def feel like i put on somde decent size...shoulders back arms everything likes thicker...i feel my bulk cycle was def a success. i know most of you are prob thinking i should bulk a little longer but i know my body and 19 lbs in 4 weeks is lot of weight to add on... now it's time to shed again. i was taking in anywhere from 3500-4500 cals a day...not clean all the time but tried my best. :chomp:

i'm going to try to ease my way back into things....prob start today with about 2800cals and then work my way back down to around 2000 by the end of the week.

today's diet

meal 1
-ON whey with 1/2 cup of oats
- 1 gluc
- vitamins and green tea

meal 2
- 1 can of tuna

meal 3
- grilled chicken and green veggies
- 1 gluc

meal 4
- 1 can of tuna
- 1/2 cup of oats

PWO shake On whey with banana and 1/2 cup of oats

meal 5
- grilled chicken with 1/2 cup of wild rice (what is everyone's opinions on wild rice by the way?) not sure how much diff it is then reg brown rice...

meal 6
- 2 scoops of anpb

training log to come later....
 
this is what the macros looking like for today

Sat: 14 129 6%
Poly: 11 103 5%
Mono: 39 352 17%

The ultimate goal is to be leaner and thicker than before... every time... you'll do it... i'm sure you're body loved the lengthend carb fest :) It should fuel a few great workouts in the begining of your dieting.

thx bro...she just needs to be monitored or the rest of her life....but at least she is ok for now.

back on the wagon indeed :evil: i loved eating pretty much what i wanted ( i don't have a sweet tooth or anything so what i wanted was like steak, pasta, or some fried chicken) and when i wanted...the last 2 weeks i did 0 cardio to maximize weight gain lol but i honestly don't mind dieting...it's so much easier for me...i know exactly what i'm eating and when...none of this i gotta cram in the cals buisness lol.

the constants are:
eggwhites
chicken
tuna
brown rice
green veggies
oats

pretty easy and pretty cheap...i just bought 8lbs of instant organic oats for 99c a lb. this will last me a few weeks!

Use it or not just putting it out there...

A better measure (per the Bunnninator :) ) is cooking in some fat free spray, ect... then add Olive oil pre microwaving in the amounts that you need, so you actually ingest the goodness of it.

ANPB can be dangerous, lol... ESPECIALLY the flavoured one's ...omg.. soo good! :RADAR

yesterday's training

legs
- leg presses 2x15 3 plates each side

tried to do some light squats but after a few my lower back felt like it was going to lock so i stopped :rolleyes:

chest
-incline hammer strength 2x15 2 plates was way too easy so the second set i went alot slower...and that shit hurt lol. was going to add a dime on each side but didn't really want to aggrevate the shoulders since they felt good at this point. overall pretty happy

-flat dumbells 2x12 70lbs also felt great and decided to do the second set slower...great time under tension!

back
- wide grip pull ups with 30lb dumbell 1x7 and then got 3 more after dropping the weight. 1x6 got 2 more after dropping the weight...i waited about 1 1/2 minutes btwn sets

-reverse grip pull downs 2x10 160lbs really like these...haven't done them in a while. back was bothering me so i stayed clear of t-bars

shoulders
- front barbell presses 1x15 145lbs i have def gotten stronger on these but same deal with chest...no reason to add the weight if i'm getting the maximum pump i can this way. i just went a little slower and did 2 negatives

- side laterals 1x12 35lbs

- rear laterals 1x15 25lbs

- upright rows 1x10 105lbs shoudlers were make alot of weird noises on this one lol...i think i'll go lighter next week and maybe even do them on the cables

arms
- standing alt curls 1x12 45 lbs

- one arm preacher 1x12 30lbs

- rope extensions 2x15 don't remember the weight...

abs
- hanging leg raises 3x20

ok so i live in an apartment complex in hoboken.....i bought a little over 2 years ago pre- construction so i got a great price. it's prob one of the nicest places to live in hoboken today... so with that come the hoboken yuppys and hoity toity people as i like to call them. :evil:

anyway...there is a shuttle service that drives me to the path train every morning (the path is the train that goes from jersey to manhattan...that's how i get to work everyday). now some people wait in the lobby for the shuttle to pick us up and some people wait outside...to each their own right? i never wait inside...i like the fresh air and since i'm inside all day (i trade corporate bonds) i like to be out when i can.

so this morning i come down from my apartment and there are 3 people in the lobby hanging around for the shuttle....i walk by them and wait outside and read my wall street journal like every other day. the shuttle comes...i hop in the front seat. all is well in jp land right...HELL NO!! some 40 year old lady taps the passeneger side window and exclaims "you know, your extremely rude!! you have no manners!" here i am thinking oh shit.....she must be pregnant...i am a dick. so i look down and see that she def has a gut but she's not harboring any fetus i can tell you that!

so me being a gentleman i ignore the fact that she isn't due in a few weeks and offer her my front seat anyway. i'm thinking what are we in the third grade...it's a huge van with plenty of seats i don't care where i sit. mind you..there's only 3 people waiting for the van not 15. it's not like i cut the line of people waiting so i didn't have to wait for the next shuttle or anything like that. so now we are all in the van...all 4 of us lol and some other guy buts into the conversation and says, "yeah man...your pretty rude" ok..at this point my blood is boiling because these 2 yuppy losers sat in the lobby while some lady tried to walk out the front door with a baby in one hand and a huge piece of luggage in another. what did they do??? nothing!! what did i do?? helped the lady with the luggage to her cab on the way out...but i'm the rude one with no manners right?? right

so we finally get to the path train and i hop out of the shuttle...i wait for the lady to get out to confront her about the situation...i mean i don't want people not to like me or to think i'm rude b/c i'm not at all..i'm actually a good person :p so we go back and forth and explain each other's situation...she's acting like a 3rd grader and i don't understand a fawking thing that's coming out of her mouth. if i want to wait outside....i'll wait outside...if you want to wait inside you wait inside. when the van comes i'm hoping in...i don;t have to wait for you people waiting inside the lobby area to get in before me...thats ridiculous! she really has no rubuttle and and just said i was rude about 12x....then this fawking ass clown starts talking smack again!! i'm like oh my god...i'm going to go to jail before i even get to work today!!

now i'm getting yelled at by this 40 year old pregnant looking whore and this slick backed hair faggit! i've been nice up to til now but everyone has a breaking point. so finally i cut the woman off mid sentence and say,"ooooh my god, shut the fawk up you ugly fat dike!! you smell like mothballs!!! and then the faggit was about to say something and i cut him off by calling him a pimple faced queer. my heart was beating so fast but i kept tellign myself just get on the train and pls do not hurt this faggit. so it ended with us getting on seperate carts on the train and him yelling right before we got on "i'm going to bring this up in the board meeting next week and get you in trouble" honestly that comment put me in such a better mood...the guy was so distraught when he said that and he said it liek a little 8 year old girl tattling on her big brother lol.

anyway...thats' my story for today. i've asked a bunch of people so far and they think i'm right...i never cut anyone...i just waited outside for the van. to me that's a seperate line then inside...if there was someone outside before me of course i would have let them get in before me...b/c i have "manners" but there wasn't....so i hopped in. ahhhh what a great day so far!

Wish my day had been more entertaining, day off bored to tears still feeling ill. Workout in a few hours though thank god. Them im just gonna sit in the hydro come home and watch a movie. See shit day lol.

things are good ll thanks for asking lol! no arguments today...didn't see them. the one guy i doubt i'll see too much...he prob was going in early for a meeting b/c i never see him....the 40 year old hag...that';s a different story....i see on her the shuttle...i see her on the path train...i see her on the subway when i get into the city and she is usually on my shuttle on the way home so there is no escaping that little street walker

she was actually on my shuttle on the way home yesterday....extremely funny!! although i was sweating like mike tyson in a spelling b b/c i wasn't sure what i would do or say.... i was there in line first...she came next... i opened the front door for her and said pls sit...i insist hahaha. she looked at me like i was the crazy one...and then hopped in the back....whatever...but i'm the one sans manners right? wait it gets better....lol

she opens a bottle of advil for the driver who apparently has a screaming headache...spills about 10 pills in my row (she is sitting in the row behind me....mind you each row holds 3 people and there was no one sitting next to me...i guess that shows her disdain for me :p ) so i pick up all the pills and hand them to her....she doesn't say thank you so i just sat there and smiled at her for about 3 minutes straight.....she tried to avoid eye contact but it was pretty hard consdiering my whole body was turned around facing her. she didn't whimper a word....as we left the shuttle i said very loudly "have a wonderful evening ma'am!" kind of like that scene from anchorman when veronica corningstone bolts into the bosss office and ron says "you can use my office and then maybe later we can go to lunch" hahaha...good times i'll tell ya

- ON whey i usually throw in 1/2 a cup of oats here but i knew my lunch would have alot of carbs so i kept them out

- ground turkey with whole wheat pasta in tomato basil sauce. really have no clue what the macros are here...i'm guessing about 70g of carbs and about 50g of protein and about 10g of fat
- 2 gluc

meal 4
- 1 can of tuna

post cardio ON whey no oats again

meal 5
- not sure yet...may mix up some 95% lean beef with the tomato basil again...out of chicken :(

meal 6
-will prob skip b/c i will def be at around 2600 cals and that's not good!!

weekend was great...had a best friend's wedding down in south jersey. a little banged up from the weekend but i'll handle it.

tre i've been meaning to ask you a question about my inner thighs...not sure the name of the exact muscle. everytime i do squats i feel my inside thighs extremely tight on my decent....kind of like the muscle is going to pull. i know i need to stretch prior but it seems like all the stretching i do still doesn't help. i do hamstring stretchs and quad stretches right before for a few minutes...but as soon as i go down i feel the strain if my insdie thighs not being stretched. so most times i shy away and just jump on the leg press machine instead.....an suggestions on particular stretchs for that muscle?? thx!

it's amazing for me how true that is...i can eat great 6 straight days...not even one questionable meal...and then i'll treat myself to a huge cheat meal and it's lilke i'm back to square one :evil: for me i see the best results if i sneak in a little cheat her and there...not one big cheat meal or one cheat day. for example...tonight i'm going to use honey mustard sauce with my chicken...little things like that i think work best :Chef:

ok story time...

so i was 17 and on a class trip to europe....my highschool did this every year..but this was my senior year and we went to london and france. (i see london i see france i see jp's underpants... :p don't know why...just needed to say that)

ok so i'm in london with about 40 other guys from my senior class ...i went to an all guys highschool...i wore a uniform...and yes i'm gheeey...any other questions??? ok moving on now...so we are all out one night at some pub in (excuse my spelling bud i don't feel like looking it up) piccadili circus...i think it might have been the limelight...actually whatever....doesn't matter. so we're all pretty much drunk and being immature...we're 17 and seniors in highschool in another country...do you expect anything else? plus i'm naturally immature so that's a bad combo :evil:

we stumble out of the pub...and i do mean stumble b/c i sware those steps were not there when i arrived at the place :mix: anyway, there's 3 of us basically flailing our limbs in the street trying to hail down a cab....no one wants to pick us up....shocker!! finally a cabbie picks us up and by this time we are not only drunk but extremly belligerant...i mean we weren't hurting anyone but we were extremely vulgar. profanities i wouldn't even type without using * to so scensor it....you know the words..we've all been there.

so on our way back to the hotel we start heckling the guy...calling him a homo...in our defense he was wearing a tiny pink hat...weird...anyway the guy was a good sport about it...not even flinching at these american words we are forcefuly throwing at him. he's actually making the ride kind of boring and needles to say we're pretty upset that our tatics could not get a rise out of him. we also didn't realize how huge this guy was....hold on i'll get to that in a second. so we've tried all the name calling in the book and still nothing....so we're just about at the hotel and as we are getting out i called the cabbie a "bloody wanker" now...i only know that word wanker from watching tv...i never really knew what it meant. i'm sure alot of people still don't know what it means and if i never uttered those words that night i would still be clueless to this day.

turning my back on the cabbie as i'm now walking away from the car...he grabs me and yells right in my face...."i am not a jerk off" :chomp: prob wasn't a good idea to be calling 6'6 240lb guy anything but "big fella...or "big man" rookie mistake...one i'll never make again...note to self - check weight and heoght of cabbie before verbally bashing them in the future.

i'm guessing he didn't undertsand the slang curse words i was using...or maybe he did and that last statement put him over the edge...or maybe that's probably the worst thing you can call someone in london...to this day i don't really know..but when he grabbed me and i turned around...i sharted...not a little one either...graphic i'm sorry but this is the truth...of course i didn't tell my friends that were with me...i played it cool...and my expression to the cabbie was cold and dry...unlike my boxers i was wearing. he literally scared the crap out of me...but i would die if i let any of those guys know the real truth...

so my advise to anyone traveling in london:

wear diapper padded underwear if your going to call a cabbie a "bloody wanker"

biggt- thx bro...my shoulders and back have always been stronger then my other parts...my benching is horrible though! i may switch to close grips like sarge and mm starting friday...

i'm going to try and do 5x5 with front presses today....and do side laterals after as an assistance exercise...that's depending on wheteher or not i think i need it. i'm guessing no...but we'll see. i'm thinking i can prob get 175x5....

as far as my shoulder is concerned i have always been stronger in those areas...even before i hurt my shoulder. my shoulder bothers me a little during direct shoulder work...during chest it's down right painful....

first pt was yesterday....guy rubbed my back and tried to get the tightness out of the muscles for about 20 minutes. then he stretched my hips, hams and quads...then i did a few mckenzie exercises...
