It's Official: SUV owners survive crashes 50% better

Well, duh!

It's common knowledge, or at least it is to me that a smart car which is in the micro class that gets a "good" rating compared to say a malibu in a midsize class with a "good" rating aren't actually equally as safe.

The ratings are from class to class and only mean they're acceptable for that class size of vehicle.

This man would know..

Exactly. That's how they make them misleading.

For example, pick3 is strongest 140lb, 43% BF guy in the gym.

So now let's move the thought experiment forward yet another time: You clearly want to choose a small car with fairly advanced safety features such as newer crumple zones. But shouldn't we pick a comparable SUV with similar features?

yes, but i think it's still show that we'd fare better with all civics as opposed to all of any SUV of your choosing

Another thought experiment!

We're going to go with your Honda Civic. Let's also assume you are hitting an immobile object (tree, embankment) at a theoretically survivable speed. Now are you trying to say you'd be safer in that Civic than if you were in a BMW 5-series?

(I chose those because your Civic is #4 on the "Small Cars" list while the BMW 5-series is #3 on the "Big Cars" list (published by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, 2011 report).

yes i believe that you would be safer in that civic because your car has less crash energy to absorb, reducing the deceleration of your body upon impact compared to the bmw

So let me make your claim perfectly clear: You believe if you hit a tree in a honda Civic, you'll be less likely to be hurt than if you hit that same tree at the same speed in a BMW 5-Series?

Is this correct?

SUVs are for people with insecurity issues. Look at women and SUVs. Every fucking SUV I see, guess whos driving it? Either a small tiny man. Or a woman!!! LOL INSECURITY ISSUES!!!

I like women when they are in regular to small size cars. They are generally more happy and smile more. And drive with confidence. Women in SUVs? Fuck them! They drive like they got something up their ass. Or like they are fearing something is going to get them.
