Is this self defense or murder?

unbelievable..

you dont get away with killing a cop here, illegal warrant or not

i went through the academy and believe me they burn it in your head that people have the inherent right to protect themselves from the use of unnecessary and excessive force. that means if im a cop and i raid your house on an illegal warrant the person being raided has full rights to protect them self, their family and their home and their dog and their fish and their cat and the fleas in the carpet.

Three shots hit Constable Tessier, killing him. The last shot struck another constable in the arm.

Jurors heard that Constable Lauzon and Constable François Leblanc mistakenly thought the shots had come from a door in front of them, so they fired 10 shots at the bedroom of Mr. Parasiris's 15-year-old son.

While backing up, Constable Lauzon bumped into Detective.-Sergeant Nathalie Allard as she fired at the master bedroom.

One of her shots struck Constable Tessier as he lay dying; another wounded Mr. Parasiris' wife, Penny Gounis, in an arm.

There were also questions about Constable Tessier's appearance. He was dressed in black and the word "police" on his bulletproof vest was obscured by a flap, the jury was told.

The Crown said the slain officer wore a baseball cap with a police logo on it. But the defence noted that the ambulance drivers didn't see that cap. Instead, a black tuque was found at the scene

AVet, that is an interesting perspective, and I see your point

I don't view drug dealers as scum, I think my government who owns and operates all the liquor stores are worse than drug dealers since more people die from drinking than doing blow or weed.

I think drug dealers are entitled to make a living just as much as the government who sells booze and lottery tickets
Good post :)

Man, I absolutely cannot see how you guys don't get it that you can't make an appointment with drug dealers to come search the house. The element of surprise is so that they do not destroy evidence or so that the cops don't walk in on an ambush. Most drug raids are done in the middle of the night like that for those reasons. The fact that crooks know this and still decide to subject their children to that risk is on the parents' heads.

Lol dude, chill out... lol He was no drug dealer. In fact they found almost nothing and they knew that from the start cause the cops had no evidence, only miserable info through hearsay. Maybe in your trailerpark, cops can get "no knock warrants" for 1g of pot but not here. And no knock warrants are done by a Swat team, not a bunch of plain clothes wearing tuques who could easily be mistaken for hillbillies.

But hey whatever......lol Their stupid chief just admitted today they needed to change the whole raid procedure.

These baboons even got thrown out of a gunrange last year for being reckless jackass. But what else can we expect from a city that is a mix between NJ and Staten Island lol

I believe NJ is one of the smartest states in the nation.

People are missing the point here. It doesn't matter if the guy had no drugs in the house or if the guy had 20 dead bodies in his basement. If police tell you to get down, you do it. Period.

As long as they look like cops....

Yep, the word 'POLICE' on their shirt, and possibly wearing a vest.
