is this possible with creatine?

I always thought that creatine is absolutely safe, but yesterday I noticed that I am getting water retention with it. Does this mean that I got fake creatine, or I don't know somehting? I am taking 25 grams of frontloading, as they say on the label.

As a matter of fact, creatine does have one side effect – dehydration and water retention if you overdose it. And this is exactly what is happenning here – you are taking way too much creatine. The right dosage for an adult male is 10 grams per day. And there is no need to front load it. This might make it work a bit faster, but I don't think that wasting extra product and getting water retention is a good deal for a few days of difference. Besides, you are also getting creatine from the foods you eat, so there is no need to take so much of it.
