I'm 130lbs and haven't really done a lot of leg workouts. I was squatting and wanted to see my max and was able to do 205 as a max. Maybe could have done 215. Is it good? Or should I be able to do more? I have played tennis 12 years and have always used my legs

Just keep working on it bro...if your form and technique are dialed you may be able to push heavier, just keep it up and make sure you do full range of motion...for a little guy not bad!

I used the squat machine with the bar that is on a... Idk what you call it but it takes 30 pounds off the bar so I figured the weights plus the 15 pounds of the bar at 205

I'll try the free weight next time. The only problem I have with those is that my left knee tends to give out. I was at tennis workouts and my knee gave out on me and I fell to the floor.
don't use the smith...its a sure way TO ruin your knees and lower back...the motion isn't correct
it will also build muscle unevenly which will predispose you to MORE knee problems
how deep can you squat with no weight at all?
thats how deep you should be hitting it with the barbell with the same motion
theres a lot of ongoing debate about if your knees go past your toes...how far to lean back...etc etc
most of it is bulllshit to put it bluntly as long as the angle of your tibia and your back is the same youre in good shape
point your toes out just a tad for a stance and your knees will follow
the squat is one of those things thats incredibly over thought out
properly done squats will stabilize your knees and should help resolve your current knee problems....do squats in a power/squat rack and see where the safety catches the bar in case you should have to bail out of the lift

Not bad for a first time, but in a couple months you should be squatting atleast double your body weight. work on technique, it is key to squatting big weights. Build your hams, glutes, abs, lower back, and hips for a massive squat.
