Is this a decent deadlift weight?

i cant rep very well in conventional but max at around 360.

i used to pull in a moderate sumo stance, and my best was 315 for an easy 3... the stance was kinda a hybrid of sumo and conv.

For feet to the plates sumo, i've done 275 x 6 i think. i have weak hips ...i dont think i could get 1 with 290, cause of my damn hips.

285 huh? For how many!! I'm not gonna get beaten by some girl!!! :D

I put the bar on the ground and untense my body. 1/2 second rest, slowly retense until lifting the weight then a smooth steady pull back up.

Spatterson is not just some girl. She is a seriously strong strength athlete. I can deadlift low to mid 400's, which is pretty bad compared with my other lifts, and there are a ton of "girls" who outdeadlift me. Becca Swanson pulled over 600!!!

How about them apples? I have a hard time living with that one. One thing that makes me happy, I would be the all time world bench press record holder in all age and weight classes, if only I had a vagina.

How many 1 rep sets do you guys do in 1 workout?

Depends. For speed deadlifts, which I always pull sumo, to work my hips, 15.

For a deadlift max, 1. I pull conventional in a meet, but I generally will only pull a conventional deadlift once every six months or so.

I will ocassionally pull sumo for a microcycle to work my hips and adductors, 3 sets of 5-6 reps.

BTW, my sumo max is about 100 pounds less than my conventional max.

Useless is the word that comes to mind....unless it is a deadlift variation that is used to work a muscle.

Do you mean that from a powerlifters point of view only??

I've seen bodybuilders pack on mass using multiple reps, although without setting the weight down, or just lightly touching the deck.......and the form for every rep was good.

I figure it is too easy to over-generalise in this game.
