Is this a decent deadlift weight?

Fro, conditioning has to be taken into consideration. Especially concerning NightFly and myself. NF trained to pull big weight at high reps, but you probably don't train specifically for that. Likewise, I train to pull high deadlifts specifically. There are plenty of movements I don't train that are likely subpar.

Just something else to consider.

Listen to your body...you know when you're giving it your all, and when you're not.

Thanks for the replies. I just have no way of knowing how I'm doing and what weight I should be pulling as I'm the only person in my gym deadlifting.

The weight you should be doing is the one that lets you get your target number of reps and no more......

As for how you are doing......why measure yourself against others? So long as you are making progress you are doing good.

Just my 2c.

I personally find the just the thought of pulling for more than one rep incredibly painful.

Useless is the word that comes to mind....unless it is a deadlift variation that is used to work a muscle.

Keep pushing those numbers Fro...keep pushing yourself. Progress...you will achieve.

There you go. Pull sumo as an assistance exercise to help my squat. Hate pulling sumo. Thought I would mention that while I was complaining.

:lmao:

we just did sumo deadlifts the other day, and Spatts mentioned she didn't care much for 'em either.

I can pull 221 for 6 sumo, not sure what I could pull for 6 conventional. I did 309 for 1 not too long ago when we were just sorta goofing around.

I don't MIND them, and I pull just as much, as it's about 8-12 inches less to pull for me, I just don't feel as confident in that stance. Probably because I'm always dropping the weights on my toes!

Assistance work is the only time we do more than 1. We have different goals though, from Fro, like I said.

How many 1 rep sets do you guys do in 1 workout?

We do 6 singles...but they are 60% of 1RM..for SPEED. Don't really do any "all out" full reps in training.
