Is there something wrong with me?

PARKER-911

Hey everyone I was just wondering if anyone could help me figure out if theres something wrong with me and if so what.
When I wake up in the morning or if I havent eaten in awhile (a real long while) my stomach is flat as a board but all I have to do is drink a glass of water or have my egg white and cream of wheat breakfast and I now look like I did when I was 4 months pregnant! I'm 100% serious right now I don't know why my stomach gets so big and does this mean that in order to have a flat stomach I can't eat?
If anybody could help me or has any suggestions I would really really appreciate them.

Could be a food allergy causing the bloat... I'd take out the cream of wheat and substitute another carb source to see how that affects you :coffee:

If this happens even when you drink water, I have a feeling it is all in your head. I need to see pics of said "4 month pregnant" look after drinking water.

This happens to me as well when I eat stuff... but the water thing baffles me. Try chewing some beano or take a digestive enzyme before you eat.

Do an experiement - drop wheat, flour and dairy from your diet for 2 weeks and take note as to how you feel and report back.

Agreed...

I also think Vel & Sarge have the right idea here, I did this with Oatmeal WAY back when & realized my stomach had a bit of an allergy when I ate it. And I COOKED my oats, nice & mushy. Same thing MAY hapen with brown rice from time to time. Never touched the cream of wheat though. I still enjoy them. I love them :)

No one on here knows WHO you are or can see you face. Take a pic of you belly before & after if you want opinions to make sure it's not just, like DG said, "in your head."

I already ate this morning so I will post pictures tommorrow. I swear it's not in my head though because even my husband was commenting on it yesterday. He told me that is so wierd how your stomach does that and he even said maybe I nees the digestive enzymes or maybe I just have a little belly. But then I was thinking about it today and maybe my stomach muscles are still streched out from when I was pregnant and I just need to tighten them back up and get them strong again. What do you guys think about that?

Can't imagine. You say when you go a long time w/o food - I mean, when I wake up in the morning I look great abs-wise, but as soon as I eat , it bags out some. Maybe you need digestive enzymes.

IS it up high in your stomach or lower in your intestinal area - the bloat that is.

That sounds intestinal - not stomach-related to me.

I think you should do what Velvett is saying - make some diet-related changes and see if that helps in the next 2-3 weeks.

From my belly button down

Well, that's easier to fix.

Drop gluten and dairy for 2-3 weeks, check that you are getting enough fat in your diet, especially if you are not "regular", dairy free acidophilus and a digestive enzyme prior to eating should be a good start.

Followed by a good mini detox diet and cleansing program should help you out.

*** This suggestion is based on my personal experiences with similar problems and what has worked for me. I would suggest consulting a nutritionist, homeopath or your primary care doctor for a professional opinion as well.

:)

Hi! I hope this acn be a bit of help...Lacrose intolerance is not about dairy...IT IS the sugar in the milk and other foods.
It is the hidden intolerance that may be causing the harm....
* bread and other baked goods
* processed breakfast cereals
* instant potatoes, soups, and breakfast drinks
* margarine
* lunch meats (other than kosher)
* salad dressings
* candies and other snacks
* mixes for pancakes, biscuits, and cookies
* powdered meal-replacement supplements

IMO you should listen to Vel's advice...

Well that looks familiar...
That's how mine started eventually it was from the top of my stomach down.

Honestly I would drop the dairy, gluten and sugar (including fruit) for 2/3 weeks and get an appointment with someone that can test you for food allergies and food sensitivities.

Try not to eat anything that comes out of a box or container.

Thanks for posting that for me Bunny, that was really nice of you. And I am going to try vel's advice, it's so wierd because I've always had this but I never thought anything of it, so now I have hope of having a flat stomach through out the day and not just in the morning :qt:
Vel what did you eat when you took all that stuff out because it seems like everything has gluten or dairy in it :worried:
Thanks again everybody you've all been a ton of help!

I know.
It's crazy.

I eat spinach bread the recipe is in the recipe thread near the end - it's basically spinach and eggs), chicken, fish and eggs - occasionally red meat, most veggies (tomato and onion are your friends - goes with everything), I think you can still get away with rice or sweet potato.

Also, don't go cold turkey - ween yourself off the first few days - every day eat one less meal that includes one of those items untill you have none.

Make sure you eat enough healthy fats (avocado, nuts, EVOO or coconut oil)

:heart:

Hey Parker, what's probably happening is that while you are dehydrated at night, and before breakfast, your stomach is flat. After you replenish your sodium and potassium, your body starts to hold more water.

During your menstrual cycle especially, your body will hold anywhere from 10-15 extra pounds of water. You can try using a mild diuretic, if it bothers you, but be careful with that stuff, because screwing with your eloctrolyte balance can seriously mess up your heart.

There is nothing wrong with you. What your body is doing is completely normal. You can also try cutting down on sodium intake (but make sure you get enough, because you can get really sick by completely eliminating it.)

I hope this helps.

...wow. That's probably not water retention. That looks like an accute inflammation of adipose tissue. Is it only happening in your stomach?
I would definitely see a doctor.

Yup only my stomach

Right off hand, gluten intolerance. To test this, eliminate EVERYTHING containing gluten from your diet - that would be anything made from wheat or spelt or containing wheat or spelt by-products and any other grain containing gluten. Do a web search on 'celiac disease' or 'gluten intolerance' and see if you recognize yourself. (The pics are really helpful.)

How long does it take of doing that to figure out if that's the problem or not?

It depends on how damaged your tissues are, actually, and whether you can eliminate ALL gluten (it is used as a filler/additive in MANY things - a celiac website could tell you more). I expect, though, that you should notice a difference fairly quickly in how you feel after eating - how you look may take a little longer, depending on whether there are other inflammatory processes occuring. There is a medical test that determines whether you in fact have celiac disease - it involves a biopsy of the intestinal villi to see if there is damage, since celiac actually 'burns' the intestines and can create leaky gut syndrome.

Wow, are you having and pain or change in bowel habits? You could follow up with a gastroenterologist, he can rule out celiac disease/ IBS/ lactose intol or other pathology. I hope this gets better for you. BTW- I still think you look great otherwise :) . Sarita.

i have the same thing on var/hgh var 5 two times daily and since june 1 and hgh 2 iu daily since april and within past three weeks stomach is bloated cut out dairy, wine, wheat vianegar. woindering if it is the var but i look 4 months pregnant.

I agree. Drop wheat, flour dairy and soy. Most people have these food allergies. If you want to know which one is bothering, drop them one at a time. I'd drop them all, and if you feel better, then don't have them. Processed foods is not good for your system anyway.
