Is The Libertarian Party the ONLY party in the USA that makes sense?

Lets take over a state and run the tests there. I got the guns, you can pick the state.

Let's start with California :D

BTW, I like the ideas of the libertarians..... too bad it will take too long for them to get enough backing to make a real run at the presidency.

The following is a libertarian press release.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has a moral obligation to
pardon every nonviolent drug offender, Libertarians say, after
insisting on Tuesday that his daughter's latest drug episode should be
treated as a "family matter" rather than as a criminal matter.

"Why is Noelle Bush sitting in a rehab center while other drug-law
violators are rotting in prison?" asked Ron Crickenberger, Libertarian
Party political director. "The answer is obvious: Because her father
happens to be a hypocritical governor who believes in one standard of
justice for his family and another standard for yours."

Police were called to the Center for Drug Free Living on Monday after
employees reported finding a "white, rocklike substance" believed to
be crack cocaine in Noelle Bush's shoe. The 25-year-old daughter of the
Republican governor wasn't immediately arrested, police say, because
clinic supervisors refused to cooperate with police and wanted the
matter handled "in house."

Gov. Bush, whose daughter has had previous drug violations, told the
Associated Press: "This is a private issue as it relates to my
daughter and myself and my wife. The road to recovery is a rocky one
for a lot of people that have this kind of problem."

But the question Libertarians are asking is: Why shouldn't every
American get the Noelle Bush treatment?

"Gov. Bush is exactly right that drug abuse should be treated as a
private, medical problem rather than as a criminal problem,"
Crickenberger said. "Unfortunately, Bush is an ardent drug warrior who
believes in throwing ordinary individuals in jail for committing the
same 'crime' as his daughter – which makes him a despicable Drug War
hypocrite as well.

"Why does Bush believe that other young men and women should be locked
inside steel cages for years for doing exactly what his daughter has
done?

"Why should other Americans have their lives ruined and their careers
destroyed by a drug conviction while he hands his daughter a get-out-
of-jail-free card?

"And why must other families be torn apart when a loved one is dragged
off to prison while he visits his daughter in a cozy rehab center?

"The fact is that individuals with drug problems harm only themselves,
and perhaps their families. But a politician with a hypocrisy problem
has the power to tear everyone's family apart."

But there's a way that the governor can redeem himself, Libertarians
say:

"Gov. Bush should grant every nonviolent drug offender in the Florida
state prison system a full and immediate pardon," Crickenberger said.
"Then let them join his daughter on the road to recovery."

Feakmonster you have no clue. How are the Republicans any less socialist then the Democrats (not that we have ever seen a socialist party in this country.)
It's all rhetoric. If anything Republicans are dumber than Democrats because when Democrats get pissed off they will vote Republican but the reverse is never true. They are a bunch of blindly partisan sheep, who believe whatever they are told by their media overseers.

The Republicans and Democrats are as different as Coke and Pepsi. Look at shrub's record to date. He's a phony conservative if ever there was one.

Thanks to GW we have bigger government programs at home (expansion of the EPA in the last budget for example and a whole slew of intrusive and confiscatory regulations incompatible with private property and probably unconstitutional).

We have a perpetual "crusade" around the globe ridding the world of evil and terror (but only if they are poor and have no oil, then we take it in the ass and do nothing like with the Saudis), Woodrow Wilson would have loved that shit.

More alphabet letter agencies, Americans spying on each other like in communist countries thanks to TIPS.

We have protectionist measures to protect big business such as the steel industry even though the Republicans are supposedly free traders. We have a socialist agriculture bill that would make the Europeans look mean to farmers.

He even signed Senator Kennedy's education bill. The Education Department is the biggest winner in the Bush budget. That's amazing, Reagan wanted to abolish the Education Department. It's a gimme for the Democrats for their help on other things, no doubt. The budget has programs to give free prescription drugs to seniors, from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs I guess. He say's he wants to double the medicare budget over the next 10 years. A lot of old people vote, but seeing the man steal Hilary Clinton's lines is just surreal. How about all the appointments of Gays to White House positions? Fine with me, but the religious right will be disappointed after all the asskissing he did down south.

His last budget was more bloated than anything the Democrats produced (try and argue your way out of that one, he said he would cut the budget, then he did a u-turn and said he meant he would cut "the rate of increase" in the budget's size). Bigger is bigger, it's like "Read my lips, no new taxes." He spent more money than Clinton did, simple as that. Less taxes, more spending. Does anyone remember "voodoo economics"? It's what george senior called Reagan's plans to do the same thing. It didn't work last time either. It's the macro-economic equivalent of doing a rain dance.

Haven't you gun owners heard about Project Safe? Look it up, it's Bush's new gun-policy initiative, lots of new federal spending and an "unprecedented partnership between all levels of government." That's funny shit. But soccer moms hate guns and a ho's got to do what a ho's got to do to get votes.

These guys say it best:

"Yet, Bush’s advancement of socialist-internationalist policies under a false flag of "conservatism" is not surprising to those who understood from the beginning that Bush is beholden to the same clique of Establishment Insiders who have effectively controlled the White House for decades regardless of whether a Republican or a Democrat is president (see the next article)."

The freaking problem is that there are so many checks and balances that you have to make A LOT of compromises to get anything passed.

Don't you realize that the Democrates forced much of that budget spending?
