Is homosexuality a choice or not?

I don't think it's a choice either. I knew my brother was gay before if did...Probably confused.

I've also seen the torment gay people go through by supporting. You would not believe how cruel people can be. Heck, even on elite I've gotten karma wishing my brother was DEAD. I stood by him when my Father and his wife disowned him. He deals with that kind of stuff daily. I've seen what his friends go through. No one would choose that road unless the were simply trying to be what they are.

Too much freaking judgemental hate in the world.
LOL!!!

who wished ur brother dead through an EF k msg?

i think thats a job for the bomb sqwuaaid!

yeah, i agree this world is too hard on people who are different. who in their right mind would CHOSE a path that is different? people try so hard to fit in, that it just doesnt make logical sense for so many people to want to go against the norm. its such an issue that alot of gays try and hide their identity and stuff.

maybe its a choice to live the lifestyle... but the attraction and feelings are not a choice. shit, maybe there is a chemical deficiency in gay people's brains, but it still doesnt make them wrong. it is true feelings and attractions.

IMO the people who say its a choice, are gay themselves and just CHOSE not to live that lifestyle.

i for one know i dont have homosexual feelings, so its not a choice for me ot be straight. its what i am, and how i feel.

also the world is weird, like even gay and faggot is such a common phrase that many people grow up sayin git...im guilty on that, i call people homos, fags, say stuff is gay, all the time. (not that im proud or disproud of it, just stating hwo common it is) so it must be hard ot be gay, furthering that people wouldnt choose to undergo such abuse and harshness.

but IMO words are words, so getting mad at saying gay is gay (unless its used to a gay person as a means of making them feel bad about who they are)

thats my long opinion

Personally I think it's a choice....

As far as birth, the only logical scientific argument that I think can be made is this:

I've heard that the fetus is w/o sex for the first few weeks...it then gets a dose of hormones (test I think) and that determines M or F....seems reasonable that a fetus with a smaller dose of these hormones could be different.

Do homosexual males have LESS testosterone and homosexual females more?

I don't think being gay is a choice. I also don't think its genetic. Their have been studies of identical twins where one is straight and the other is gay.

I believe it happens very early in the development process. Probably between 0 - 5 years of age. People process information in sucha way that they find the same sex more appealing. The theory on fetish formation is similar. A man can associate feet with sexual excitement and gradification with events that happened in his childhood.

Why? who the fuck knows, maybe his ma wears some kick ass stripper boots and he always heard she loved him while looking at some nice manicured feet. The next thing u know he like woman with tight feet.

The only choice is if act on it or not. If u like dudes and have never messed around with one, guess what? your gay. :rainbow:

How can u tell if your gay or not? well if your getting back doored and u have an erection your gay. :)

Is it a choice? I think that's a bit of a stupid question. Of course, no one says "I think i'll become gay today".

However i don't think its at all genetic and i think all people have the ability to be attracted to someone of the same sex. So i think it's purely psychological.

Well I don't have any solid proof but I definitely feel I was born gay. Since I can remember I've always had the attraction to men rather than women. It was never a decision. I was also never abused sexually of physically by anyone. I tried most of my life to be straight and played the role most of my life but it was very emotionally struggling. I still go through some shit sometimes from homophobes and ignorant people but overall I'm happier finally being out and loving who I want to love. Thought it might be helpful to hear from someone on the "inside looking out".

I don't think so. Even if it were the case I don't see it directly relation to sexual orientation. I know a lot of gay guys that use(d) gear and they were still gay lol.

That must be hell, especially if it's really not a choice and the person doesn't like being gay in the first place. I wonder if any of gays are confused by it (what good is your erection doing if you're getting backdoored?).

Like squatpuke said, some of it must have to do with hormonal imbalances during gestation. But a part of it could also be learned through childhood development. I notice how some gays have eyes that appear to have a "glazed over" look, while others appear normal. Whether this has something to do with if it's biological or learned is beyond me. People should be more civil about such things though, I'll definitely say that. As long as gays know to repect straight peoples' orientation and vice versa.
