Is homosexuality a choice or not?

I didn't really mean like a casual choice. I think some people have feelings inside them (gay or anything else) and don't think much of it, and later in life they feel the complete opposite. Others decide to explore that feeling, and make it a part of their life.
I'm no expert, and I honestly haven't thought about it a whole lot. It's really not a subject I have a solid opinion on

I think for the most part it is not by choice. I think many were sexually abused by the opposite sex, as children. I think they lost trust. Others I think were born that way. I think bi-sexuality is by choice.

Well why would AAP turn gay after college. Where is he. he might be able to help
Might be that's when he decided to pursue that lifestyle. Some people go goth or become white homeboys or turn ultra-religious at different times in their lives.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying, "You're definitely not born that way!!!". I just need to see a lot more info before I could say "you are".

not a conscious one, no, but i do not believe its genetic, although genetic factors can play a role (testosterone levels, etc)
good post

i already made a thread on homophobia

why the hell would u even waste ur time trying to figure out something that affects you 0%

Can't find the other threads relating to this.
In a recent scientific magazine they determined that in some animals that show a large percentage of homosexual behaviour there is a part of the brain that does not match hetero brains. This difference was also found in human brains of known homosexuals post mortem.
Dr. Kinsey believed that all humans can be rated on a scale from 100% homo to 100% hetero. He said the vast majority of people fall somewhere in the middle. He used a scale of from one to six. I wouold refine the scale to 1-10, or 1-20.
I know a gay man who tried to be straight all the way through high school. His last girlfriend is his best friend now, and he has accepted his identity. The people you refer to don't turn gay. Either they are finally accepting their true self, or they are experimenting, trying to find their spot in the middle of the scale I mentioned.
