My little girl came early! She caught us TOTALLY off guard, she was TWO WEEKS EARLY!

Long story short ....

My water broke Saturday night 1/14 about 8:30 - we were at home watching TV. NOTHING was ready - all her nursery stuff was still in boxes! We put the crib together before going to the hospital though. :)

Got to the hospital about 11pm, water had broken, but not contracting yet. Around midnight, they hooked me up to Pitocin, to induce contractions. It worked! Started contracting (light cramping) right away, slowly got stronger until about 2am. About 2am the contractions were really intense, I asked for some Stadol (IV pain relief). Still had intense contractions, but was able to rest a little between them.

Finally about 5am the pain was just too intense for me, and the "rest periods" were SO SO SO short (like 45sec between contractions, I asked for the epidural. OMG, the pain is insane. I completely admire those who do it naturally. Apparently, my balls just aren't big enough for that, lol. The epidural was amazing. It totally killed the pain. I was FINALLY able to sleep from about 5:30-9am.

I was woken up at 9am for an internal exam. About 10am they said I was ready to push, so I did. I pushed for about 30 minutes - about 8 sets of pushes. And she was born at 10:40am Sunday 1/15!

We were both released late last night. SHe had to stay longer because she developed jaundice. We are still watching her carefully, and she has to go to the pediatrician tomorrow for another blood draw and check on her blood levels. We have very high hopes she is improving though. Jaundice is not SERIOUS, but has to be treated.

She is simply wonderful. Mom is tired ...... We are adjusting to being at home. It is weird! :) But a good weird.

Thanks for all the wonderful thoughts over the last few months ..... keep sending us your good vibes! :)

Pics are posted for plats, I am too tired to change them over to non-plat. If someone wants to do it for me, that is fine by me. If not, I will post them larger later today........ Must.Get.Sleep.

OMG

Congrats Daisy! :rose: Get your rest sugar, Cause you have 18 years of not sleeping now.. tee hee

And for the little one :bigkiss:

Sleep EVER DAMN MINUTE YOU CAN, that's an order! Whenever that baby sleeps, you sleep! :qt:

Labor and delivery are a cakewalk compared to the next bit. You are about to learn the true meaning of the word sleep deprivation :worried: ... see ya in about three months :FRlol: (or when Rachel hits 12 pounds, whichever comes first).
