Intense Workouts?!?!?!

I was just wondering if a few of yall could set me up a REALLY INTENSE WORK OUT routine for building great size and burning alot of fat. I just recently finish my last year of football and now want to focus just on weightlifting! Right now i work out 4 times a week and do 10 sets of 100 jumping rope 6 times a week. PLEASE help me with my routine. I wanna get as big as possable and lose as much fat as possable. Thanks

Well I hate to break this to you, but you cannot do the best of both at the same time. You should focus on what you really want to do more. Do you want the mass or the cut first? Also, and I wish that I could find the study, it has been shown that people that are more than 10% overweight will gain less muscle mass on an overfeeding (bulking) diet than folks who are not. That means that it would be best to burn off the fat first then put on the muscle later.

You mentioned that you just finished your last year of football and I am going to assume that you mean High School ball since you did not mention where. That would mean that you are a young growing man that could very easily shave some fat while at least maintaining the mass that you already have. Don't be afraid of cardio and do it hard. I am a proponent of HIT and HIIT principles for lifting and cardio. They have and still work the best for me, and it sounds like you are in similar shape and mind frame as I was when I finished high school ball.

Most of all, don't hang around or lift with people that diminish your life goals. DaCypher has a quote that says it best in his signature...

Keep away from people who belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.
-Mark Twain

That says it best. Build it into your lifestyle and it will come. Don't look for the magic bullet that will take care of all the needs at once because it does not exist. Take care of your goals one at a time and never settle.

Later,
MJ
