Insulin against rules?? :/

I believe too much of any thing can be harmful for us or even get us killed!
Even steriods that are being discussed here can get us killed if abused.
I think these forums educate ppl on proper use of supplements, aas ,etc., and if discussing on proper way of using insulin that can be helpful for people in here who wants to take their physique to the next level, then it would be really good as well.
Just my two cents & I respect the forum rules & my seniors vets in here :)

From my point of view insulin is a step further, its not for weekend warriors nor gym rats nor lifestyle bodybuilders, its for guys who earn their money doing this... For me to be honest I think I could spend at least another five to ten years making nice gains with AAS without wanting to complicate things any further than that... As for talking about it I can see both points of view as well, discussion promotes knowledge but can also generate interest, its a double edged sword, I suppose if the information is there it would hopefully do more good than harm, but then it should only be of interest to a very small number of people anyway...

I know it can be very dangerous, but from all I've heard it's really not as scary as it sounds. Very low doses of humalog is fast acting and far away from a dose that's potentially fatal. Especially if used only post workouts with some carbs. I wouldn't dare start using it with every meal. I'd keep it simple and very low doses if I was going to do it.

First, you will never get Humalog without a prescription. Unless you have a doctor who will prescribe you Humalog then you are assed out. The second most fast acting insulin is Humulin R, which peaks in 2 hours and clears within 4 hours, and can be purchased at Walmart for almost nothing.

Pwo is the most conservative way to take slin with minimal risks of going hypo. It's when people take it pre-cardio and pre and post workout they enter into the danger zone. I'm speaking out of experience. I used use it three times a day and would literally have to carry candy bars around because I would always get the signs of going hypo. I adjusted my protocol to PWO and it has worked like a charm. I been doing it for 5 weeks now and I have not remotely went hypo...

My source has humalog and I trust his word on it.

well i've tried humalog and the shit didn't do a thing for me.. i'm convinced it went bad along the way... tried it without any dextrose just to see if i would get any hypo symptoms and nothing. its not that the source was necessarily bad but a lot can happen to something like this that travels. Led is right, its much more simple to walk into the pharmacy and get the humulin R, atleast then you know it won't go bad on you before you even use it.

i would start out with 5 units and work your way up to 10 a day after your workout. get in your dextrose and whey after you take it.. then take advantage of it with some clean eating for the next couple hours.

using before your workout or cardio is not for beginners. your blood sugar drops as it is during this time, add in the insulin and you are risking hypo. also in the mornings you typically wake up with low blood sugar as well so i wouldn't use it then either. those that want to go the natural route can play with n2slin from NTBM which does the same thing but is in herbal form.

How close in proximity to your workout does it have to be? I workout at the same gym I work at and usually go home to eat after lifting - takes about 15-30 minutes to get home. That soon enough?

IM or SubQ?

Primarily for adding size or can it help with recomp/cutting and/or protecting lean mass during a cut?

you want to not take it before your workout because as you workout your blood sugar drops. as a former endurance athlete i have first hand knowledge of this which is why you see runners carry tabs with them to help out with that.

just wait till you get home bro to be safe. you want to be home during those hours until it is out of your system. do not decide to run errands or whatever during this time. and try to have someone at home with you in case something goes wrong

^^^ that's good advice to do this at home, not while running errands. Also to have someone around when you first start.

I think its good to have the Slin discussions on here for people's safety. It's not for everyone. I tried it about 13 yrs ago and decided that it wasn't for me.

I tried Humulin R for about a week. I really can't remember how many IU's, but it was definitely in the lower range. I had friends who were safely using it post workout and there was also some info going around the boards at that time so I thought Id give it a try.

I would take it post workout while alone at my house, which as mentioned above could be dangerous. I would have my dextrose, creatine, protein/mrp shake, and post workout meals all lined up. I pretty much had each of these scheduled to the minute.

But even with all the planning and research (which seemed thorough at the time, but I'm sure there's been some evolution) I still didn't handle it well. I'm the sort of guy that is usually somewhat dull to the senses. I'm just not very sensitive. Stimulants, sleeping/drowsy meds, test boosters, etc. do very little that I can actually feel. But I could definitely feel the insulin. In fact it was almost like I could feel it coming in and moving over me and I didn't like that. Perhaps, because I was already very cautious and aware of the dangers of insulin (lived with a reckless diabetic).

I would get drowsy at a low dose. Even after lowering the dose below the recommended range, I still felt drowsy. And that was more than I cared to deal with. The thought of falling asleep while the Humulin was still active scared the shit out of me (as it should).

I lived with a diabetic at the time so I had a test meter and was checking my blood sugar during all of this as well. But as I mentioned, I was doing this while I was alone in the house which was stupid.

I adjusted the rate of insulin and my post workout program during that week to try to find a balance, but I never did.

This doesn't mean that others can't safely use insulin. I'm aware that many use it safely and effectively for BB. Just proceed with caution.

Slin should be injected immediately after you workout in the restroom or wherever you feel like. Because glucose levels are at its lowest right after you workout, and your objective is to replenish muscle glycogen that what used up during your workout as soon as possible. I suppose if you live 2 minutes away from the gym you train at you can wait until you go home to inject, but I recommend injecting ASAP because you don't want your depleted muscles to start to waste away. After injecting drink your protein and simple carbs, then about an hour later eat a fat free protein and complex carb meal, then 2 hours later eat another protein complex carb meal. By then the slin will be out of your system. This is the Humulin R protocol...

I have read that you want to use 1 iu of insulin for every 20 pounds of weight to start out, and then consume 10 grams of carbs for every IU. So if I wanted to go about giving Humulin R a try.. would this be a good layout? I am 220 pounds.

Post Workout:
10 iu Insulin
75-100 gram Dextrose
50 gram Whey

1 Hour Later:
Chicken Breast
Sweet Potatoe
Veggies
