You could do that, but i would prefer to use the bands as resistance. It is more stable, and provides a better path of resistance.

And also, could i not just use the apparatus thats used for back extensions, sit ups and side bends... think its the roman chair..
and hold onto it diffrently with a dumbell between my feet or something like that
