I dont have a reverse hyper machine at my gym, anyone have any suggestions what i could replace these with?
I have a regular hyper extension machine i could use

What is a reverse hyper extension machine??? Isn't it BAD when you hyper extend something? Isn't that an injury? I don't think you should use any machine that promotes injury...

Just a thought.

Hyper-extensions are a great lower back excercise. The name does sound mis-leading. Reverse hyper-extensions are just moving your legs instead of your upper body.

Do a search on the internet for hyper-extensions, then you can search the training board here for B-Fold and reverse hypers. I think he has a couple pics a might still have a video up of him performing them. Once you see them, I think you will get the idea.

Nothing is going to help decompress your spine and train your extensors like the reverse hyper. I fyou don't have one, stick w/ pull throughs.

?

Pull Throughs?

And also, could i not just use the apparatus thats used for back extensions, sit ups and side bends... think its the roman chair..
and hold onto it diffrently with a dumbell between my feet or something like that

you can do rev hypoers on a hyper bench, just turn around, but loading is a problem, I tie platesdumbells on my ankles

I just do mine on a leg lift apparatus at my gym. It's high enough off the ground that I have an excellent ROM.

Improvise dude. If that doesn't work, GMs and normal hypers are your way to go.

i just lay a 2x10 across my squat rack pins and use bands or whatever else.

the thing is, when i'm laying on my stomach on a board, i can't breathe AT ALL. i nearly blacked out 3 times today after about 5 reps. this happened even with a doubled-up pillow under my stomach.

that pisses me off to no end, as that's the only way i can do reverse hypers

we've set up a bench on an incline & I lay face down, holding a DB between my ankles...

hey, it works!
