hehe...

i can't believe it either....

oh, and i'm back, i got stuck in Toronto for a few weeks, but i'm back online in Georgia...

thanks!

i'm freaking out over this, it's so awesome...

not only have i created another life (oh my... eeeeeek!) but i get to eat anything i want and get fat on purpose :D hehe

seriously though, i'm 13 weeks and a few days, haven't gained any weight yet but i got me a little pouch and i love it... so does my guy...

spatts- you can live vicariously through me... you can even step in when i have to deal with all those fun things that I've been reading about.... hemorrohids... eeeek:freak: :eek2: :eek2:

hehe... i'm off to eat... i'm craving something but i'm not exactly sure what it is yet.... but i'm sure that there's some at Dairy Queen :D

Phem - CONGRATS GIRL!!! and no wonder your pregnant! Look at that avatar. Any woman walking around like that is bound to get knocked up sooner or later:p :horny:

Please keep us up to date!! I am so happy for you!!!

Mrs.TG

phem - - WOO HOO for you!!!! congrats!!!!! i am sooooooooooooo happy for you!!

Better you than me! j/k

I am so happy for you and just a bit jealous... enjoy the rest of your life. It will be quite the rollercoaster ride! :)

There was a recent study about the effects of a womans diet during pregnancy on the bodytype of her child. Id do some research, maybe you can create a supermesomorph :D:D

Thanks all...

I'm very happy and VERY excited...

Spatts - i already have those books (and others) and i am somewhat afraid of doing my dirty business on the delivery table.... those books did NOT ease those fears!

Mel - I don't know the sex yet, but i think it's a girl... i'll find out next month

supermesomorph... hmmm..... well i know this kid has some good genes on her (:)) side, so i'm thinking i'll just eat fairly clean when i can and let myself give in to my cravings (most of the time they're for fairly healthy foods anyways...)

oh and one more thing..... DAMN BRICK... i really need to not go away for so long... I'll have to change my avatar to my developing "ab" hehe

i'm going to get another V8, they've all of the sudden become the best tasting thing in the entire universe to me.... until tomorrow when i'll gag at the mere thought...

Honey, don't sweat the delivery table......no book in the world prepares you for that no matter how much you read or how many films you watch. It all happens it's own time and doesn't wait for you!!hehehehe

One word of advice...........ASK FOR DRUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did all-natural with all three and didn't know there was an alternative!!!

Regardless it will be the happiest moment of your life!!!:family:

The breathing Spatts speaks of reminds me of my " LE-MANS CLASS" (my silly hubby called it that) I was looking around the ten couples wondering which one of us was going to go C-section....I WAS THE ONE IN TEN!

I want another baby with all this baby talk going on up in here....:bawling:

Ultasound day will make you cry!God, that first sound of the heartbeat...I'm getting alllll mushy....ENJOY YOUR EXPERIENCE!

Chirp- chirp..I WAS CLUELESS! LOL He was even MORE so,poor bastard passed out in the Operating Room!

IN my case ...NO! I went C-section!

.....Now..... if HE would have taken some notes in advance maybe he would not have passed out!

thanks again all

Mrs. TG - hell yeah for the drugs.... i'd like them to give me enough to knock me out for the first 3 or 4 weeks of sleeplessness :)

Spatts (you finally changed your name to spatts... cool!! :D) - the girlfriend book was quite comical, but full of some bad information... all and all good reading but not necessarily a bible to live by :)

the first tri was okay for me... it sucked being up in Toronto (i had some border problems and so i had to go back to T.O. and wait for my paperwork to go through... the guy was in GA the whole time :( )... i was queasy and nauseated (sp?) but only tossed the proverbial cookies once...

i like the new found breasts, they rule!!!... i keep asking the doctor if i can keep them :D

VB - i had my first ultrasound just over two weeks ago... (at 11w 3d) and one word.... WOW... it was so awesome to see this little tiny person bouncing around like crazy... i cried indeed... i was upset that the guy couldn't come with me (he was in Georgia)... but i'm going to try to scam another soon, and then i'll have the 20w one...

the ultrasound i did was a test for downs and other birth defs (called nuchal translucency for those who like to know those things)... done btwn 11w-14w they take a measurement of an area near the baby's neck and predict your risk level (based on a calculation that factors in age, gestation, ect)... from all research i've found, the lowest reading in sample groups for this one measurement (the lower the better) was 1.0mm... mine little one measured in at 0.7mm.... i havent' had a chance to discuss the results with my doctor yet, but all indications are that this is awesome! :)

one awesome thing happened at the ultrasound... the tech was doing all the measurements and whatnot and when she finally showed me the screen and said "this is your baby", a little tiny hand went up and waved... it was like she's saying "that's me, over here" so i wouldn't mistake her with all those other baby-like things growing inside me?! i think i have a smartass on my hands already ;) hehe

Spatts - i'll be doing the classes... i'm a geek and want the whole experience... besides i don't know a lot of people here in Georgia and it'll give me a chance to meet up with others that i'll have something in common with...

well i think i feel like mexican...

Congratulations.

I still remember the day mine was born. He was much cuter 18 years ago.

Still smells bad.

OMG PHEM!!! I am soooooo happy and super excitred for u girl!!!

We MUST talk, ive been looking for you , dont know if youve been reading or in the loop with what im up to, but ill drop u an email to splain'....

Big ol hug for u :)

Take care, all the best, i got "frissons" ;)

TV - email me at [email protected]

Spatts - did you notice that the girlfriends book was writen by a former playboy centerfold:rolleyes:

hehe

thanks again all.... hopefully my little one will always smell like a georgia peach :D

Phem - Congrats!!!
As Mrs. Guns said - don't worry over doing something embarrassing when you deliver...when you get to that point they could put you in the window of TJ Maxx and you wouldn't care. It is the ultimate in tunnel vision.

Take the drugs, I would almost consider getting pregnant again just for the drugs...

Don't worry about a C-section either, I have had babies both ways and if I had to choose I would go with the C-section.

The Baby Book by William and Martha Sears was a lifesaver for me - I don't think there is anything that it doesn't cover. I really like their philosophy on raising children for example
DO NOT TRY TO FEED YOUR BABY MEALS, children are natural grazers and should be provided with a plate of nutritious food for them to choose from whenever they are hungry and get this, the foods they suggest are whole, unprocessed foods.....

Again, Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!1

...and she's a lawyer

...and she's married to a record producer

I hear you

I was working as a stockbroker when I was pregnant, and so I was sitting at my computer ALL the time. I found a site that had ALL the birth stories you could imagine broken down by type....c-section, multiple, natrual, epidural, epidural with vac, VBAC, etc. Lemmee see if I can find it...

Found it: http://www.birthstories.com

thanks for the link, i'm sure i'll find the worst case scenarios and have nightmares about them... hehee

Thanks! i'll go find that book, it's actually one i don't have! but i do plan on feeding my child like that (when they're old enough to eat the whole unprocessed foods, though it would be nice to throw a carrot at a screaming 3 week old :) hehe) ...

I've already told the SO to ween himself off of the soda since it won't be in our fridge when our child is old enough to want to drink what daddy's drinking... he'll be drinking water, milk or all natural juice ONLY...

I plan on teaching my babies to eat like me... clean foods, small meals and to understand that junk food/fast foods are treats, not the norm...

at least we plan on sending the kids to private school (no georgia accents for my chil'ren thank you ver-y much!) hopefully there they will respect my children's dietary habits and not force them into the american "mold"

eeek... my baby will be an AMERICAN?!?!!

LISTEN TO YOU!!! :lmao:

Phem sings loudly (and slightly off key hehe)

O CANADA.... OUR HOME AND NATIVE LAND... HUMM.. LA..DE...DA...WITH ALL THE KINGS COMMANDS... O CANADA... HUMM.. LA..LA..LAAAA...THE TRUE NORTH STRONG AND FREE... WE STAND ON GUARD FOR THEE

ah hell... i don't even know the stupid thing anymore... haven't sung it in full since grade school...

but i know what a bever tail is, i have plenty of two dollar bills (coins now) lying around and goddammit my milk should come in BAGS!!!! (i miss those!)

Congratulations!!!:)

I loved that Girlfriend book. I wish I'd listen to one of her do's and don'ts. I got crazy and decided to chop all my hair off and cried so much after it.

Remember to rub Vitamin E oil or Shea Butter on your belly to stop those itchies. :)

"my milk should come in BAGS!!!! "

...is this a metaphor?

ah you non-canadians just would not understand... in Canada you can buy 4L of milk which are divided into 3 bags... (strange math i guess)... these are just small, clear plastic bags and you use a milk bag holder...

here, this describes it perfectly!

http://207.150.192.12/temp/subneu/articles/milk/

hehe

sumo - i've been lotioning... all studies say it does nothing for stretch marks, but i can dream can't i ? :) no itchies yet...

lol phem you're cracking me up!

my friend has two kids now and another just had her first... the latter friend brings soothers in plastic bags, the former friend picks the soother up, wipes it with her sleeve, and shoves it back into the child's mouth (5 second rule, right?)

how's it going anyways my friend... i see by your avatar all is well :) congrats to you!

Things are going well....however, that is my niece in the avatar...so it's not going THAT well...I have to live vicariously through my brother.....

I am so happy for you....

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Few not, my dear, in a few months all of your milk will come in bags!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And listen to you... my children will do this and not do that! hehehehe You just wait...when that little angel looks up at you with those big blue eyes and says "Mommy Please???" You will be handing out the M & M's like vitamins!!! Or she'll sneak over to Daddy and cleverly charm her way into 12 pack of Dr Pepper with just the mere batting of her eyes!!! Oh yes dear it will happen.

I remember sanitizing everything and everyone who came in contact with my first baby.....Hell by the time #3 rolled around, I would pick up the pacifier, lick the lint off and stick it back in her mouth. Mommy's sleave makes a wonderful snot rag, and the cats aren't the only creature to give saliva spit baths to clean a dirty face!!

Oh Motherhood...it is so FAB!!!!!

PheMOMena

Hey there!

Congratulations! I know you don't know me!....my wife is pregnant, too! Very fit, just like you! She's running 5x/week and eating salmon, oats, plain yogurt, and vegetables....occasional chocolate and peanut butter.....oh, and hot cocoa (which actually has a lot of iron!).

Anyway, we're having a boy! Due in October! A friend told her to buy the Baby Budget Book or something like that.....very descriptive on what you need to register for and product reviews! With that, Babiesrus.com is affliated with Amazon.com and they have great reviews by actual people that have used the products (not just some author!).

So, congratulations, again, and let me know if you need anything else.

POShredded

p.s. We both have graduate degrees in health/fitness so if you want to know anything related to exercise and pregnancy, my wife and I have probably researched it!

Awesome news Phem :) Best of Luck !!!!!

You , NB and I will have to do a 3some one day, since we are all so close together :) not in the dirty sense, mind you ;)
