Yeah I "Seen" myself not eating. I stayed away from the whole thing. Especially since there were 5 kids with easter baskets and chocolate, and cadbury egss... I just decided to not join the family and stayed home. Not like I didn't see them friday...
I think avoidance is the key to not falling into temptation

I am right there with you treil!! Avoidance is definitely the key to success on this one. Though, I will say that it was HARD to pass up the candied sweet potatoes from the cafeteria!! :p :p :qt: But, I was a GOOD girl!!

Nice videa by the way! I don't think it's necessary to go below parallel especially when moving to higher weights because of the stress on the knee... To each his own though!

Have a great day girl! Oh and I am FEELING it today from those squats, sprints & step mill! UGH, going to hit some hammies I think to get some blood moving. Must ... hit ... legs... hard :)

I have a question .. in the last few weeks how many PR's have you hit? Many? You & the hubby are kicking some major booty...

Hope you have a fantabulous day yourself!! Don't you LOVE when you can feel it!!! I absolutey love when I am sore the next day. :p It is then when you know you have hit the muscle HARD!! :verygood:

I have an answer...yes, I have made SEVERAL PR's. I have PR's on cleans, squats, push press, bench (to a smaller degree - it is definitely my weak point) and also on deadlifts. I have literally gone up on every single lift I work, and I still have room improve, based on how "hard" my lifts are right now. :dance2: So, LOOK OUT...more to come from the ferocious IP!!

Crikey, those are some squats, li'l lady

Looking good as always

YEA, Mermaid's back!! :qt: Thanks for stoppin in girl! I need to go check your log out to find out how your little vacation went!! ;)

When you are low carb- do you find it hard to get in enough calories? I am eating all day log, and I see that youa re too! But maybe I'm missing something?

I think I understand your question correctly, but let me know if I am way off. I have a calorie limit of 1200 on my low carb days, so for me the calories add up QUICKLY, and half of the time I am starvin like marvin by the end of the day!! So, in a way it is HARD to make my calories NOT go over 1200...lol ;) Did I answer your question?

My trainer told me on my days off to eat 1200 and 1800 on the days I workout, do you eat 1200 all the time?

iceprincess said:
HECK NO!! Just on LOW carb days!! LOL ;) I could not handle 1200 every day!! :verygood:

On the other days what are your calories averaging? How are your workouts going on the low carb day and what do you choose to workout on those days?

Thanks

Thanks

Moderate Carb days = 1350 Calories
- I only have one of these and it is on my moderate lifting day

High Carb days = 1500 Calories :p :p
- I have two of these days a week and they are both scheduled on my HEAVY lifting days!

Low Carb days = 1200 calories
- I have scheduled these to land on my cardio days and my one day off :verygood:

Hopefully this answers your question and helps you out ;) Let me know!

Go IP go IP GO!!!!!!! Great job, Girl!

GOOOOO TEEEAAAM!!! Thanks for cheering for me SG! (they need a little cheerleader icon :lmao: )

I got the greatest compliment today, in a weird sort of way. I had a guy at the cafeteria walk by me with his buddy and as he passed, my other workout buddy (besides my husband) overheard a guy walk by me and say… “man that woman works out!” I don't really know why, but that just really made me smile and feel great inside! Also, it's almost weird for me to say this, but I can honestly say I am actually very happy with the way my body is right now. It has been a LONG while since I have been able to say that. I never thought I would ever be to say that at a weight over 120lbs!! But, I am feeling more lean, and being lean is actually making my 5’2 body feel taller! I've had "issues" in the past, and for me to feel this way is really a true blessing from above. I can't even begin to explain how different I feel and how wonderful it is. And SO MUCH of the reason is because of all you wonderful ladies!!! Thank you so much...you'll just never know...

With all that said though, I am still on a mission to reach 9% body fat!! lol

I am hoping to make a few more PR's today!! We shall see...

HECK YES - Cheat meal today!!! HIGH CARBS!!! Wasn't sure if I was going to make it through yesterday, but I did - whooaaaa!! :dance2: Hope you enjoyed your high day yesterday!! ;)

GREAT job girl!!! Keep on moving up!!! Throw some weights around and show them whose boss!

I am going to try my darnedest to keep moving up! Though, I have to be very careful, so that I don't embarass Nelmsjer TOO badly!!

Happy cheat meal day!!

You deserve it - Nice PRs!!! By the way, I shared a slice of home-made applesauce cake with the bf last night as my cheat. Somehow way back when, on some level- I knew my birthday would fall on a high carb day! Anyway, wasn't too much of a cheat, considering I knew the ingredients and the sugar was low. But it tasted sooooo gooooood!

I was also looking at your food log - I want to try working in a small apple on my low carb days - close to my workout time.

Ok so yesterday was another BUSY day for me at work. I ended up working two hours overtime (on top of my normal 12 hours) IP = Not a happy camper!

Also, I have been getting a HORRIBLE stomach ache by the end of the day for the past 3 to 4 days, and yesterday night was the worst...not sure what it is. It is complete with a nice bloating action in the stomach region as well!! I am going to try and not take the T-Rex today and see what happens.

I got on the scale today, and after getting down to 123lbs on monday, today was freaking back up to 127lbs (after THREE low carb days) not sure what is up with that, but anyways...I know that things are changing for the better, so I shall roll with it. :worried:

Do you do these on a treadmill?
If not on a treadmill how do you know when you've sprinted for 20 seconds?
No, I do these sprints outside, the length is approximately 3 times the length of basketball court (down and back). :verygood:

I use my watch and I start on the top of the minute, usually finish about about 19-20 seconds after, and then I rest until it hits the top of the minute again and I start the process all over again. ;)

You couldn't have planned that better if you tried!! I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed it - I might need that recipie...it could come in handy some day!!

I absolutely love the apple before workout...it is fairly low in carbs, for a fruit, and it contains a good amount of fiber as well. PLUS, it has a nice sweet taste that is absolutely fantastic on those low carb days!! ;)

Hey IP! :)

Just a thought ... ever consider changing things up & shortening distance on these so you have push a little harder .. Not that I condone hitting 100% of max ALL the time b/c of injury, but you can increase intensity a few %'s by cutting back on distance, then bust them out ... OH & add reverse plyo kick backs to hit to glutes and nail those calves...

I will certainly consider it. Maybe I will try just running one direction, then rest half the time, and go on every 30 seconds, instead of every 1 minute. Thanks buns!! :bigkiss:

Morning IP

MORNING GG!!! ;) :wavey:

Variety is the spice of life... AND training ... I'm sure you know the recovery is JUST as important as the sprint ... Mix things up, you'll body will react to it, that's for sure :)

Wasn't yesterday your cheat meal?? That may account for the scale ... *edit* at least the 128 ... give yourself at least 3-5 lb variation A DAY ... A DAY... minimum ...

When did you start this carb rotation hun?

Do you LOOK bloated? or just relying to much on the scale (please say NO ...)

Im going to have to go do some more reading in the AM ... :( I hope you feel better hun

Can you pinpoint anything specifically you changed?

Yes, my high carb day was Friday. But, the interesting thing, is that AFTER three days of LOW carb, I was up FOUR pounds...kind of threw me...I completely expected my weight to be up after the High carb day, but not after three low carb days!! (if any of that made sense) ;)

*Bunny* said:

I started the carb rotation about 2.5 weeks ago...

*Bunny* said:

Actually yes, my stomach was bloated on Wednesday through Friday and by the end of the day actually had a pretty bad tummy ache. I tried not taking T-Rex on Saturday and my stomach went back down to normal. Not sure what that was all about... I guess I am just curious as to WHY the weight is increasing, it may be useful down the road. PLUS, I am just a big NERD like that too!! :nerd:

Thanks so much bun's for all the time and effort you take in trying to help me figure stuff out - YOU ROCK!! :bigkiss:

I have racked my brain aobut this and I can't think of anything that I have changed, since I started the carb cycling...

I'm trying to help, sorry for the 100 questions ...

So carb cycling, T-Rex & Aunt Flo (MAYBE).... oh you added the oxy, but I have read nothing about that being a side :)

Hmmmm

Every'body' sure is different I'll tell you that ... :)

When did the weight start increasing, just this week?

When you first started Carb cycling, it dropped, is that correct?

Aunt flo is like freaking 10 days out...that is why it is confusing. I haven't had any sides with the Oxy other then feelin GOOD!! heehee

Well, the weight has been increasing every week, but the last two weeks have been the heaviest I have ever lifted for sets...

Yes, when I first stared carb cycling my weight dropped down to 123 lbs :verygood:

Ok question for all you lovely ladies (and gentlemen):

I need your help on something...What do I do about being so freaking hungry? Do I need to eat more, or do I need to deal with it, since I am cycling between 10-12 times bodyweight on low carb days? I am starving and I only have 250 calories left for the day (it is only 5:30 PM here)!! And suggestions, comments...

I soooo need to see the movie now... :lmao:
IP you must see "Wedding Crashers" ... do it for Bunny .... it's hilarious :)

As far as the carb issue, I think it's the case with ANY low carb diet... the 1st week or so you're going to see a huge drop b/c the low carbs... that's why people are like "Wow in 2 weeks I lost 20 lbs on the {insert low carb diet of choice} ..." even though those drops can be seen in the 1st week as well (i.e. 20 lbs in 7 days ... woo hoo). It's water people!!! Anyway ...

What I can relate this to before I can get Sassy of DG to jump in here...

I did a carb up last year ... and took pics ... IMPE, I was flat ... REALLY depleted, then I carbed up & blew up ... OMG it was over the course of about 4-5 days, Flat... little less flat, Bloated, PREGO, full muscles... I took a pic with my hands on my belly b/c I looked pregnant and I thought it was hilarious ... after that day, next morning, and the following one for that matter, my muscles filled out really nicely and I looked fuller ... I dare NOT step on the scale b/c I think at that time I was still hung up on those #'s and that would NOT have been good when testing out a carb up ...

I know this won't offend you, but when you low carb and look for sources, Broc is a good one, and guess what Broc is known to do... other than make you feel all full of air, bloated, gassy even ... Have you been eating a lot or Broccoli or SOMETHING that is making you react this way? For some time I would feel all bloated b/c my stomach was having some ype of reaction to the oats I was eating, but they were too good to give up, so I just rolled with it, and new if I have Oats, then well, My stomach was going to 'expland' for a few days ... some little irritation going on inside... but these are things you pick up over time as you experiment get to know your body... :)

You must experience them & go thru them to find out what will happen in your particular situation ...

Again with that said, I hope it's nothing serious and you should probably start taking some Beano or another digestive type enzyme to see if that helps ... Gassy or bloated or not, Beano IS a dig. enz and helps alot of people.

The other thing I was thinking about is you said your weights have gone up, have you had increased soreness also? After a really hard work-out the micro tears in the muscle cause inflammation. Inflammation = red, hot, swelling, pain. Which will hold onto some water to repair the tissues.
I notice you drink pretty much 3.6liters of water (green tea has caffeine (unless you use decaf)) which you have to drink twice as much water to get rid of the dehydration affect from the caffeine. Maybe try switching to decaf tea which still has trace amounts of caffeine, but at least it would count in the water consumption category. Also, apples make my stomach all jacked up, especially the tart ones. Just some thoughts...

Hey Girl, thanks for stopping in!! I have not increased in soreness, though I have increased in tired muscules and fatique (just enough to notice). I usually drink anywhere from 5-10 liters of water a day, and ONLY 1-2 liters of green tea a day - normally. So, I don't think that that is the issue, though I see where you are coming from!! ;) I have never noticed apples affecting my stomach, but I will have to start looking out for that!! It is funny, but my stomach hasn't had any problems since I stopped taking the T-Rex....

I don't eat a TON of broccoli, ONLY because they don't have it every day. I normally eat it, at most, every other day for one of my meals, unless I am lucky and can get it for two. I am, as you mentioned, still learning and I am having a BLAST in doing so!! (I absolutely LOVE to learn) Thanks so much for your help bun's, I will LEARN soon enough!! Lots of information in here this AM! :eek2: How are you feeling now? Less bloated? Well, that's probably not relevant after a high carb day...but how were you this AM of the high carbs.

Hmmm...well, if you are hungry it is easy to say eat more but that may not be the solution. Have you assessed your diet lately? Your carbs seem a bit low for a high carb day. They are even very low on your low/moderate carb day. How did you create this diet?

You know what...here are my goal numbers for each day. I'll just throw it out there and ask for some feedback! LOL! ;) ;) ;)

Low Carb Day

150g Protein (50%)
60g Carbs (20%)
40g Fat (30%)

Moderate Carb Day

135g Protein (40%)
101g Carbs (30%)
45g Fat (30%)

High Carb Day

131g Protein (35%)
150g Carb (40%)
42g Fat (25%)

Sunday (Low Carb) - Day Off
Monday (High Carb) - Heavy Weights
Tuesday (Low Carb) - Cardio (HIIT)

One more question...

How long have you been doing this and how are your changes so far?

I have been on this breakout for about two and a half weeks ago. Both Nelmsjer and I can see quit a few visable changes. I plan on taking measurements and pictures soon...

I have felt a lot less bloated this past weekend...though this evening I was feeling bloated again with a stomach ache (IP = Frustrated). But, I think I have now narrowed the issue down to kidney beans - I didn't have them ALL weekend and was fine, until I had them today!! IP needs to stay away from the beanage!!

Typically, you want to keep your protein the same for all days. I'd keep your carbs at bodyweight for moderate carb days. For high carb days, you want ~1.5 * bodyweight. Fats will be lower on this day, but not MUCH lower. You could switch and do a no carb day for your off and cardio only days. That would mean no carbs from any fibrous or simple sugars, though nuts and oils as well as avocado is allowed.

You've set your schedule well...you're doing lower carb days before you hit the weights which is a VERY good thing.

Sunday (No Carb) - Day Off
Monday (High Carb) - Heavy Weights
Tuesday (No Carb) - Cardio (HIIT)
Wednesday (Moderate Carb) - Moderate Weights
Thursday (No Carb) - Cardio (long: either a run or incline walking)
Friday (High Carb with one cheat meal) - Heavy Weights
Saturday (Moderate Carb) - Cardio (HIIT)

What do you think about that?

Hey, IP! Had a lot of reading to do to catch up here! Just letting you know ..... I had an employee complaining of stomach aches for about 2 weeks. She drove herself to the ER and they found that her appendix was close to rupturing. They yanked 'em!

Don't want to freak you out......but you just never know.......hopefully it's just the beans!!! LOL

You couldn't have planned that better if you tried!! I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed it - I might need that recipie...it could come in handy some day!!

I absolutely love the apple before workout...it is fairly low in carbs, for a fruit, and it contains a good amount of fiber as well. PLUS, it has a nice sweet taste that is absolutely fantastic on those low carb days!! ;)

Checking in, this is great info between you & FBC. I'm adding in a few strawberries or a small apple on my low carb days, with protein, about 30-45 minutes before I go workout. Your 1st meal of the day also inspired me to buy some cantelope/melon... Yum. Like you said, it's sweet- so a good treat, too! Plus, I'm hoping it gives me a little boost when I'm lifting, too.

Thanks for all of your input and help, and please keep it coming!!! ;)

Hello sweetheart

Have you reached a plateau with cutting or are you using the carb cycling as a tool to cut anyway? You may be tiny and not weigh that much but you're a pocket rocket and I think you need to eat more than the standard 10x bodyweight? Even to cut? Plus your fats - 40ish g per day but I can't see where? Is the chicken cooked with fat? Maybe you are someone that NEEDS more carbs to function.

Just throwing more things out there. If I'm talking out of my :mommakin:, I'll go back to my hidey hole.

All sent with love though, you know that :rose:

We have started to use carb cycling because it is a great cutting tool!!

I get my fats from flax meal, fish oil, almonds, provolone cheese, and avocados when they have them!! It adds up quickly ;)
