I got one on my upper back so that it's covered in most clothing (like for work) but exposed whenever I want it to be (tank tops, halters, the beach, etc). It's very special in meaning (two different meanings too). It is of 3 butterflies, a larger blue one in the center and two smaller pink ones facing the blue one on each side, the butterflies are all attached via a black swirly design. #1 - The blue butterfly represents my husband and the pink ones are my daughter and I representing our family. #2 - The blue butterfly is my husband and the pink ones are a g/f and I representing FFM 3-somes. It's a simple design and only took a little over an hour to do. It felt like a gentle massage with sandpaper.
My husband has one below his belt to the right of his pubic area. It is a custom sun and moon...the sun has my blue eyes. I will eventually get the reverse with the moon having his brown eyes. His took nearly 4 hrs. due to the complexity of the design.
If you get a tattoo on an exposed area, you will want to cover it with sunscreen or else it will fade (this goes for tanning booths too).
