I never knew how hard it was to get calories in.

well, I started a diet log. It is a pretty crude excel spread sheet, but it gets the job done for now. Anyway, I thought I was doing really good today. Everything was super clean. Now, as the day is closing, I have used the sum function to find that I am at 1975 calories. Here is the breakdown:
190 Carbs
182.5 Proteins
53.7 fat
Totaling 1975 kilocalories. This sucks man. I never have tracked my diet, but if this is my usual diet (which is not) and I still store fat, I am going to have a pretty fat life ahead of me. Heck, I honestly thought I ate about 2500 kcals today. I guess I was dead wrong. I'm going to weight to about 10pm and slug some protien and 2%milk for some bedtime loving.

So what do you guys think about all of this?

What's your height/weight?

I'm 5'10 I weigh just under 170. I just got back on v-12 today so I will probably weigh in at 174 by sometime next week.

Then you've a problem dude

Your metabolism is way too slow

At 170, you should lose weight at "only" 2000 cal/day (I assume that you're lifting from time to time)

Did you use T3 or other supplement that could have screwed your thyroid?

Nope. I'm clean. I'm actually waiting to next summer before I think about juicing. I must say this though. Just because I pulled this in today, it can't be considered my regular diet. I mean, I am just starting this crituqe. When I eat normally, which is still probably somewhere around 2000-2200, I am fairly lean. It is just lately I have been indulging. Also, I do drink on the weekends. I will keep track of things for about a week, and see what happens. I honestly think I will be cutting if I keep this strict of a diet, but I want to actually be just over maintenance by 100-200 calories right now.

How does my breakdown look? I mean the carbs : protien : fats.

This is what I did tonight.
Here is the breakdown for the end of the day

Before my last protien shake:
190 carbs, 182.5 protien, and 53.7. which equaled: 1975 kcals

I needed some more calories so I decided to take a protien shake down which would absorb slowly. I had two options. I could either drink it with milk which would up the carbs, or I could take it with flax oil which would give me some more fats. I went with the flax oil because I didn't want the carbs to outweigh the protien. the breakdown of the shake is this:
3 carbs, 23 g pro, and 15 g flax oil fats. This adds in to a total of...

193.5 carbs, 205.5 pro, and 69 fats. which equals 2214 calories.
Does this seem like a good starting point for me? Are the ratios right? Was it better to choose the flax, or should I have gone with the milk?

I assumed the flax would be best. I knew the whole high gi carbs before bed thing was bad, but I wasn't sure about fat before bed. So, it's cool?

I don't know for sure. Less than 16, probably 14 at the moment. Sometimes as low as 12 i suspose.
