I need a list of books suitable for a 13 yo girl

The chronicals of narnia rock, I just read through them all again myself a few months ago. But unless she's already a die hard reader, get her each of the books seperately rather than the one big book with all of them in it. It looks daunting to give a huge book and she may not even want to start. Once she reads the first one though, she'll be hooked!

The books blow the movie way BTW (as always).

Lord of the Flies (my favorite book of all time)
A Seperate Peace
Flowers in the Attic
The Outsiders
Whose Afraid of Virginia Wolf (sp)
I hear that new movie called Nanny-something. I can't remember the name. Has a wonderful series of books that are both great stories and also drive home the point that outward beauty and inward beauty are not one in the same.

I could go on and on...lol

I read Catcher in the Rye at about 13, but it is somewhat controversial. It depends on how liberal you are, I suppose. I loved the book!
