How to GAIN WEIGHT?

New member
What are some of the advices you would give to a hard gainer who wants to gain weight?
Is it normal to gain a lot of fat during the period of gaining a lot of weight, etc?

If you are working your ass off and eating lots you prob won't put on a crapload of fat...but it is necassary...

Some fat is inevitable (I guess). You could get away with none probably, but it's really difficult. Unless you're extremely vain or have an OCD, ignore the little bit of fat. Eat big, train hard, and sleep deep...or, something.

Eat high quality meats and carbs. Don't base your food intake on shakes and weight gainers. Make sure and train smart and get plenty of sleep.

How much do you consider alot of fat? If I were you I would be prepared to gain some fat, but if you start gettting to soft lower the food intake for a week or so.

Why don't you give us your age and stats.

You can use all shakes to gain weight if you want. Your body just knows the calories it's intaking. If you use a protein shake with a full AA chain, and little carbs, you're fine.

Get on a solid training routine and eat alot. Atleast one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight and alot of calories. Dont worry about eating clean. Eat everything and force something down ever few hours.

Eat more. Even if you think you're eating a lot, you probably are not - you'd be amazed at the sheer amount the big guys eat. Also, you'll almost HAVE to gain some fat, but you wouldn't want more than a 1 to 1 ratio of fat to muscle I think, and a lower ratio should be possible.

I was a life long hard gainer and still am I'm sure. I gained 45 pounds in 11 months by using the 5x5 program and over eating as much as I could. I ate everything in site and then some. I ate out at least twice a day just big as value meals. Everytime I went out for a nice dinner I got the biggest thing on the menu. Just thinking about how much I've eaten over the last year makes me a bit nautious and want to dry heave.

and how much fat??? See..thats the real story..........guaruntee that it was more than half, unless you are a genetic freak or on some serious GH.....

I'm a hardgainer and my recent gains in size and strength have come from the DC training method, I swear by it now...I would also up your calories slowly over time to insure that you are making good gains and putting on the least amount of fat possible...

figure out what your caloric intake is and go from there. Or you can follow this rule of thumb.
16-20x weight in calories
2x weight in pro
2.5 x weight carbs
.5 x weight fats
I learned that from a pro bb and personal trainer a long time ago. I have lived by it for 4 years and gone from 150 to 265 14% bf. (and also some deca, winni, tren sust,prop,eq,var,androl,dbol,enath,cyp,nnp,clen,hcg,clomid,nolva,adex,provin........
