Just wondering for those of you who train mainly for hypertrophy and more reps/bodybuilding how often do you do switch to strength training?

On a push pul routine you can train both once a week ex Monday I go heavy on push reps around 8 and then at the end of the week I train push again like a Saturday or so and train for hypertrophy and train 12-15. I like the layout and I have found a few programs that do it this way

Steve I hear you on the deloads. Im stubborn and dont ever deload and it costed me a shoulder injury a year back. I remember paul dillet saying once a month you should lift heavy and thats it

it depends. if you are making rapid improvements its a must which it seems like you have.

your tendons and ligaments need a chance to catch up.

ego is a major problem in the gym. there is a young guy probably 18/19 who benched the other day and asked me for a spot.. he said he hurt his shoulder really bad yet he was benching 275+... thats just dumb... i see a lot of guys who go heavy who bitch about shoulder problems.. seems to be a recurring theme, i'm guessing its major tendon/ligament problems in their shoulder and once the problem happens if you don't rest it then it will become chronic

Yeah the gym owner said my shoulder injury came from forced reps and pushing too hard on one of the reps. Which makes sense because i used to do a ton of forced reps. I think ill try lifting real heavy once a month per bodypart or something

It will come with experience.. you have to listen your body.. I didnt and hurt myself last year. I am keen not to repeat that shit.. I have no interest in the weight I'm lifting I dont care about numbers once it slowly goes up I'm happy. I literally only want to look good. Thats my excuse for being weak and I'm sticking to it..

I understand not caring about numbers but numbers still is relative to how good you look. Constant progression is at least. You can lift light weights and look good but if the numbers dont go up you will look the same.. But I am the same way about numbers it doesnt bother me if I cant lift as much as someone else, I just want to add weight progressively
