Not to nose into your little personal exchange kids, but I posted the question in general. I experienced some serious weight gain immediately post comp -- it was due to depression eating after my trainer let me go into a show too fat (fucker) but it is interesting how many people on here begin to blame their thyroid and want to start self medicating w/ t3. So my question was more along the lines of, at what point are you *really* having thyroid problems that need to be addressed and when are you just experiencing a short term hang time in respinse to something extreme done to your body -e.g. fast weight loss. For me, it probably had to do w/ losign & gaining 20 lbs twice in an 8 month period for 2 shows. Just sort of bombed my system so hard that it reacted by just holding on to everything.
Here's an example of the response I got from one doc who my trainer recommended when i couldn't lose the weight and actually started geting burnt out. (I was loading some serious ephedrine for 4 months too ...). This dipshit ran a bunch of tests for me, but before getting the results, he just wrote me up a script for phentermine (recall Phen - fen???) Needless to say, i threw out the script.
I didn't experience all those symptoms I listed - mostly just inability to lose weight and of course depression --- duh! couldn't lose the weight!
SO anyway - i just wanted to bring up some of the stuff about thyroid - yes it is important, but I also think its VERY important to understand what *is* a problem and what *isn't*. The symptoms are so general and even the tests can give back inconclusive results.
