I am curious as to how many of you are competitive. Do you use gear just to be big for yourself, To compete in BB competition, Powerlifting, Or collage - pro sports?

Do it just to be big........................

did a competition twice but it was self imposed for a look I wanted to achieve

it been a long time since I have been in that type of shape

I intend to comepte on stage one day since I think I could look like Arnold in the old days if I really really, REALLY tried.

I use for the same reason as BigAndy69 does.....and also for self-experimenting.........and probably most of all, my health when possible.

Oh yeah, and also because they are FUN to use when you know what you are doing.

I was a skinny athlete in high school.....was all state..went to college...started juicing...decided to hit the books and just do sports for fun....Now...I do it cuz, I have a passion for the gym......It is my stress reliever....A place where I don't have to answer to anyone, tell anyone what to do, or listen to some corporate asshole who is 70 yrs old tell me how great he used to be...............
I live my life 1 CC a day!!!!!! I do it for fun, for the strength, for the size and for getting my body in the best shape I can.....I would compete but, was given legs that I cannot grow.......

I use to compete in the future and because I am a gear junkie, when I am off I am like a crack fiend dreaming when it will be time for the next hit lol.

I did my first comp last nov and got 3rd. Next one is in june. I used to want to be big but a few friends talked me into it. Glad I did now.

I like what bigandy said about challenging yourself with mock competitions. I think it's a good idea to either compete or to do that. I'm entering my first contest next Sat. (good lord, 1 week left...) and I don't think I ever would have gotten around to losing the fat if not for this contest. It took me long enough to lose, and I'm still not in good competition condition (still a little lower ab fat and little bit in love handle area), but I've hit my personal best and will be better prepared next time. I just keep thinking, Wow! I need to keep this fat off, it looks great to be lean!

I'm also 6'1" (1.75" but why split hairs) but will be coming in at a measly 205 or so. I've got a light bone structure and broad clavicles, so I've got a pleasing shape. I want to take the next year off from comp. after this and get up to 235 and fairly lean then compete at 225 in the same competition in 2008. We'll see, but that's my plan.
