How many chinups?

Back in the days I used to do like 16-20 chinups, butit was a long time ago. Now I am at a new place, where we have apullup bar, so I do now one go of chinups everyday. Started withdoing just 5-6. Then started adding 1 chinup every 3 days. So nowafter two weeks I do easily 10 chinups. Muscle memory is an amazingthing, but I wonder, with this approach how many chinups will be thelimit? Don't think it will be possible for me to do in three monthslike 50 chinups. How many do fit people do usually?

I knew an ex firefighter who was in his early 60's who could rip off almost 50 in a row no problem

he has been working out for decades. if your goal is a lot of chinups keep working at it. just keep in mind though if you over train you can develop elbow issues and shoulder problems too.. so pace yourself over time

a trick for you is wearing a weight belt and tying some weigh to you to add to the challenge

Eventually you are going to hit a plateau when you regain all your lost muscle and the rate at which you are able to increase your pull ups will slow but you should still be able to add a pull up every 1-2 weeks.

That might seem slow but in a year, that would be an extra 50-25 pull ups.

I would say that if you really make it your focus and your diet and rest is on point, you should be able to do 50 pull ups in about 1-2 years.

Very few people can actually do a proper pull up. I would say only 5% of the people in your average gym can do 5-10 proper pull ups.

15-20 pulls ups is a very decent number. Yeah, of course there are these beasts who can do up to 50, but bear in mind that the great majority won't be able to do even 5-10. Just remember that consistency is the key, so if you will keep doing it, there will be great results. Indeed muscle memory is a great thing that allows you to get back really fast. Sad thing the fat does not go away as fast )
