How do u wake up?

Fast or slow?
Do u pop out of bed with a good stride or does it take 6 cups of coffee?
Both actually! I DO pop outta bed all crazy like and am a morning person but if I don't get my coffee right away it's short lived.

I am the chick in the parking lot of the gym drinking coffee at 5 AM. I also do much better if I work out first thing in the AM. My whole day goes better.

What about you?

I am the same way with my workouts. Changes my whole day.
Sometimes I wake up fine. It depends on how long and how many times I get up with the baby. He seems to sleep less and less. It's catching up with me. Today, I'm on my 3rd cup of coffee..... just sitting here. I can barely move, lol. .....and the baby just went back to sleep. That's my luck.

i hate waking up...

it's the most dreadful and difficult thing for me to do throughout the day.

i usually have to set 3-4 super loud alarms spaced out 5 minutes from each other. by the time i'm up the 4th time i've exerted enough energy to somewhat wake myself and walk to the kitchen to drink some NOxplode and a protein shake.

on mornings i don't workout, i hit snooze over and over again on my phone alarm and turn off my other alarms. eventually at 8:30 the sense of urgency kicks in. "If i don't get up and get my ass in the shower, im going to get fired"

my human growth hormone - somatropin - injections have been giving me that extra *kick* start though

Slowly and Mean.

be warned.

be afraid.

be VERY afraid.

most of my repeat offenders between the sheeters choose NOT to share my morning wake up routine with me. wonder why?

I'm a surly bitch in the morning. I hit the "snooze" button twice at a minimum. Can't drink much coffee (caffeine gives me migraines), so it's slow goin'.

I'm usually groggy for a couple seconds then on to the norm of just being grumpy. I don't drink coffee or anything with caffeine usually, but Orange Juice seems to wake me up.

Cheers,
Scotsman

I used to be a morning person, as time goes on, it takes me longer and longer to get my bearings in the morning.
My energy comes at night

i also get violent and verballay barade anyone who tries to wake me up in the morning.

i had my roomate try to wake me up for a bit when my sleeping schedule was out of order. apparently i was unconciously telling him to go fuck himself, and he leave me alone, get the fuck out of my room, i'll kill you etc.

i really had no awareness that i was saying that

i wonder if it's genetic to be a morning person.

none of my family...except my dad can get up in the mornings like that.

it's a struggle for my bro, sis and mom.

we're always running late to everything and have this super bad morning groggyness.

i've heard of people having similar experiences with that and it being consistent with their family

a guy staying at my mate place tryed to wake my mate up early one morning resluting in my mate breaking his nose with his foot and not even knowing it, he was asleep the whole time

Some people think it's based on what time you were born.

*dunno*

My parents are both morning people, being their child was hell.

When these baby blues pop open- I'm ready for the day- BRING IT! It makes my hubby crazy since he's sooo not a morning person.

Hop out of bed:

-Take a leak
-Portion out my vitamins for day/evening (about 20 different kinds)
-Shoot em down with my cranberry juice
-Make the bed
-Make a shake / cup of tea for the road
-Hop in shower
-Dress, dry hair
-In the car, listening to sports talk
20 minutes later work.

I usually wake up realluy fast. Unless I'm physically exhausted from something the prior day, I'm fully functional within a couple minutes.

Stimulants do not bide well with me in the morning. I'm not a big coffee fan, but if I drink some, it won't be until I've been up for 4-5 hours.

I cannot comprehend how people are cranky, grumpy, or semiviolent in the morning. What the hell's wrong with you?

:cow:

I wake up fast in the sense that once I'm up, I'm up and moving. But I'm not a morning person by any means and usually prefer to not have to talk too much for the first two hours of the day. Anyone who's close enough to be around me in the morning learns very quickly that morning = quiet time (unless I get some lovin, in which case I generally cheer up a bit faster).

I am just moody in the morning. I need some time to mellow out.

Are you programed to get up at a certain time?

Or, when your power source is fully charged?

I doubt it. A personal preference based on numerous individual variables within the body, sure, but the human organism is innately diurnal.

What, is no one else a scrambler here?

lol...you know what's funny about that...

I have the weirdest internal clock thing - and it's about five minutes fast. I almost always wake up about five minutes before my alarm. On Sunday J. was "testing" it out and asking me at random points of the morning what time I thought it was...Once I said 9:20 and it was 9:16. Next time I guessed 11:30 and it was 11:26. Then I said 12:15 and it was 12:10. Someone needs to get a technition to set my clock back five. :p

I used to be like that...sleeping on average 3 hours a night...I've been sleeping a lot better the last two or three months, though.

by vampire i mean..i can sleep all day and be up all night.

my normal bedtime unmonitored would probably be like 5:30am. wake up at 3:30pm-4pm

I actually hit the off button on the alarm while the first beep is going. Once that goes off I get up immediately. For some reason I just never lie there. I'm usually up by 5:30AM during the week to avoid traffic.

4am-11am would be what i'd like

a mix of night and day so you have almost all night and don't miss too much of the daylight hours

Does you warranty cover that?

hehe... nice new lips. Looks like MAC lips. Love that Lip Glass.

I bet you sleep with that smile on your face all night. :)

I'm definitely a night person. It doesn't matter how late I sleep in, I'm fuckin tired in the morning. It takes an hour or so to wake up but my mind is really alert by the afternoon. I think I was just meant to be up all night and sleep late. It works well for my career choices anyway, database administrator and DJ. Both require working in the middle of the night.

I have heard of Juicy Tubes. I just hate it when my hair sticks to my lips. Freaky, not sexy, lol. So, then I use Burts Bees in Champagne a lot too.

Gosh...sorry Myway. Did this just turn into a lip gloss thread? It happens.

Myway is cool and won't mind!

I use Burt's Bees products! They have the bestest Beeswax and Banana Hand Creme. I use it on my elbows though. It's really thick and I get the roughest elbows in winter it seems. They match my "callous" hands! :)

Fack no, I hit the snooze for an hour today. I workout late so that keeps my wired for a bit after. But mornings suck I have always loved to sleep in. I can come into work when ever as long as I don't have a meeting scheduled, which is nice but still never look forward to my alarm going off.

Jump up and hit the alarm,(if I don't wake up one minute before it goes off) feed the animals, and eat some food.

Doesn't seem to matter when I go to sleep, I wake up by 7am. Usually, if I get to bed by midnight or earlier, I am more than fine when I wake up. If I get to bed later than that, I may be tired when I rise, but I still end up getting going around 7...sometimes 8 on weekends.

When I go to bed, I hit the sheets and I am asleep in a matter of just a few minutes. No problems there.

For you night owls...the body was not meant to sleep during the day and be up all night ya know. You're fucking up melatonin levels and increasing cortisol levels. Might want to try avoiding excess stimulants. Keep your caffeine intake down and try to keep it strictly in the mornings. If working out late keeps you amped up, are you taking stims before w/o? If you lie awake at night thinking/worrying about stuff...well, tomorrow's another day, and there's nothing you can do about it till then. You'll be better off just going to sleep and getting enough rest so you're feeling well enough to deal with things the next day.

I could spend a week or two with anyone who says they can't get to sleep at night or aren't a morning person, etc. and by watching their daily routines, dietary habits, supplements they are or aren't taking, etc. and most likely cure them...if they were willing to take advice.

Easy for you to say, being a morning person and an easy sleeper. Some of us are our most alert from around 4pm to 2am rather than 9am to 6pm. I've always been this way. I really feel the most awake around 5-10 pm. Thats like my afternoon. Just the way my brain works. Because of my routine my body is now used to waking up early and I no longer sleep in until the afternoon. But even so I feel the most alert at night.

edit: And btw I take absolutely no stims at all, no caffeine, no chocolate, nothing. And I am like this whether I am working out at night or not working out at all. The only thing that may make a difference would be working out in the morning, but like I said I'm not a morning person so that ain't gonna happen. I like to work out when I feel most awake, around 6pm.

I'm a big MAC fan. I'm a big lip gloss fan. U can hijack my thread all u want with these things. :)

I am up quick because I am in a rush. I wake up at the last minute so I can get more sleep. I shower get dressed and I am out the door. I put my makeup on when I get to work :)

Oh, I wasn't ALWAYS like this. I used to be a "night person" and definitely not a morning person. I wouldn't say I'm a morning person now. I don't jump out of bed and feel like a million bucks, I just do what I gotta do.

You say it's the way your brain works. I say you can change the way your brain works to improve yoru health. Your body will thank you. I still stand by everythign I said. I could spend a couple weeks with you and watch your routine and make recommendations. But, it's easier to just say, "this is how I am, I can't change." And, as long as you think that way, you are right.

You just proved my point right there. I also wake up early now (7am weekdays, 8-9 am weekends). I also just do what I gotta do, but I'm still a night person like you.

Morning people DO jump out of bed feeling like a million bucks. That's just how their brain is wired. I didn't say I couldn't change my schedule, I'll just never be a morning person like some other people, I'm a night person.

It's always different. I work different hours of the night and I'm very active. I can't even sleep more then 6 hours sometimes. When I finally want to sleep, I have to go to work or I'm going somewhere. I live off of Monster drinks.

Early as fuck. This shit sucks. I get up at 0345 Monday through Friday and it is very gay.

Pop up and realize the alarm has been ringing for an hour. I was smackin the dog on the head every ten minutes cause I thought he was the snooze button. Half pissed myself dreaming I was on the toilet. Yea mornings are rough.
