I do not care much, depends on what the 13 year old girl went though. If she is some 13 year old hood rat who lost her virginity at 8 and who has more life experience than a 24 year old from the suburbs who voluntarily engaged in sex then i am not that concerned.

if it were my niece, daughter or sister then that would be different. I would be pissed off then but i still wouldnt consider it nearly as serious as forced sex or something along those lines. She probably was blown over by his celebrity, just like the 100s of other women im sure he has slept with have been. i dont agree with that as rape usually connotes severe, debilitating emotional trauma on the part of the victim and i dont think the 13 year old girl from this situation experienced that. If she did it was probably because she was exposed to the world when R Kelly was caught.

in the US they dont have legal capacity but in some countries they do. then again in some countries you can beat your wife to death over a minor infraction.

And that's why the law is subjective I suppose. I am black and white on the intrepretation - 18 years old and the law makes you look good, but what if they are mentally handicapped etc???

There will always be subjectivity, but I think when the area is for the safety of our children no matter their maturity level there should be fierce enforcement of the law.
