High Protein Ideas

Just started a high protein diet a few days ago and I'm getting sick of it already...wondering if you guys have any good ideas for high protein snacks/meals. On my current list are:

Protein Shakes
Eggs
Steak
Tuna + Mustard
Chicken + Lettuce
Nuts
Cottage Cheese

Making gains is a hard lifestyle. If you want the gains , you gotta suck it up!
Some additions to what you have
yogart
milk (lacatid ultra for intolerant people)
pork
Nuts includes a wide range of thing from sunflower kernels to macedamia. I'd do all
 
You can use some beef and make some patties or whatnot. Don't forget natty peanut butter. Tofu and beans to add some variety if you are up to it.

I wasn't going to say soy because I thought I was the only person that used it. Also the point about allergies needs to be mentioned again. If you have peanut allergy stay away from peanut or peanut butter. U can die from fatal asphyxiation

personally nothing beats a double quater-pounder with cheese:) thats if your not worried about carbd and fat
 
Everyone knows Tuna is great for protein but it does get old. The ol tuna and mustard makes my stomach turn now. I eat the hickory smoked tuna. It comes in the aluminum pouch and is already drained. It has the same quality protein and it does taste very good plain. It is a little high, 2.00 dollars a pouch, but if you like it, you can easily get 90 grams a day just on tuna. I just open it up and eat it with a fork, you dont get that messy tuna feel either. Just open and eat. I think it is like 40 or 45 grams per pouch, hope this helps you. :)
 
Tuna really isn't that great a source of protien on the list of quality protien sources. If it's tuna or nothing, go for the tuna of course. This isn't a flame, just a fact.
You can also include other fish like salmon and actual tuna fillets or steaks (the pouched or canned stuff just don't cut it), seafood like crab, lobster, shrimp, LEAN ground beef, turkey, cheeses (you'll need a little extra fat while on low carb high protien), wild game meats like deer, moose, elk, caribou, etc., etc.
If you're having trouble getting in enough protien through solid foods, just kick up how many protien shakes you're taking.
 
nuts and cottage taste good but they're certainly not on my protein list!

its all about how you prepare your eggs..

i throw some ketchup and tabasco, salt and pepper.
fuck yeah!!

you can also cook some tomatoes and onions, and then throw the eggs on top of that.

or make some egg salad on a bed of lettuce.
 
I suppose thats true.

Only thing I hate is cracking 10 whites+ 2 whole. It takes some damn time LoL.

I have been using Omega-3 eggs lately. Apparently they are flax seed fed and the yolk is very good for you.

Garlic, ginger, olive oil. Tomatos, as mentioned are good, too. Cheese is good.

Throw some frozen raspberries in the blender with milk, yogurt, protein powder, yeast, creatine, flax seeds, banana. Hard not to have a second one of these.
 
Salmon steaks are great also. Very high in protein and have the good fat also. I also buy the shit in the can also and make salmon patties. Man I get some really good farts off that stuff.

Also as others have said just throw all kinds of shit in a blender and suck it down. I created my own protein shake that has over 150grams of protein in it. I take 1/2 in the morning and the other 1/2 in the afternoon in-between meals.

It goes something like this:
EAS Myoplex deluxe new formula 53 grams
Flavor fresh pouch tuna in water. 7.06 oz 50 grams
4 tablespoons of natural Peanut butter 28 grams more if you need to kill the tuna smell.
flax oil
Lecithin or however you say it
Glutamine
creatin
Ass load of choc milk
Banana
Oats
And yes I have a large blender.
If I can still smell the tuna I just keep adding nestles choc.

This shake is pretty damn cheap also. You can also throw a few eggs in it if you want to try and get it close to the 200 gram mark.

I love all the things mentioned above. In addition I eat a LOT of fresh turkey breast. One of my favorite things to do is roast a 5 or 6 lb turkey breast overnight in a crockpot. When its done I shred it and mix with a couple of bottles of sugar free bbq sauce. Crock it again for a few hours on low. S hit is great!! Cant tell it from bbq beef.

Just stay off Egg yoks, last time I looked a whole egg contains 240mg or 270mg of cholesterol. Most of it probably on the sunny side.

but I basically live out of a blender with protien shakes.

I figure out how much solid food protiens I can eat and tolerate in one day. Then supliment the difference with whey protien shakes.

My goal is 350 g protien per day. I take 3 82g whey protien shakes(including protien from milk) =246 g protien and fill you up for short time, one first thing in AM, one 1 hour before workout, and one 1 hour after work out.

then I only have to eat 100 from food.
 
ground turkey is great and much healthier than ground beef. Throw like 5lbs in with 2 bottles of sugarfree marinara sauce, some cajun seasoning, 1 can of peeled tomatoes, some paprika, some italian seasoning and eat over whole wheat rotini. good eats.
 
I like to use ground turkey a lot too but try to use specifically ground turkey breast as opposed to just ground turkey. In general if it doesnt specify breast its usually fatter than lean ground beef from what I have seen.

My biggest problem is finding the time to prepare and eat all of those extra meals. I work in a technical field so I don't have a lot of free time to sit down and eat an extra 4 meals troughout the day. Ultramet blended protien shakes are a lifesaver. They get old after a while but I prefer the convieniance over flavor.

Question: I've been told that it's best to consume whey shakes only post workout because it digests and absorbs fast. Is this true?

Thanks all for the suggestions...somehow I doubt I will ever add tuna to a shake - but I'm gonna try most of the others and try to limit the number of egg yolks I eat on a daily basis.

THis cant be real.....#1, you'd puke..............#2 it's a full day's cals in one meal.....I gotta call bs...........
 
BS?? Full days meal?? Its basically a pack of tuna and a protien shake. I make these things all the time. Hell yea they fill me up. I basically sip on it all day long. What do you mean i would puke?? You cant even taste the tuna hardly. Just try and imagine its not in there. Shoot me a pm brolly. I am curious to see if you are my neighbor in Ohio. :)
 
Thats one hell of a shake KaBar, dont think I'll be trying that one anytime soon though, sorry bud. I do give you props for getting all that down though. You guys who have trouble with the egg thing, I found it easiest to go with 8 egg whites and 2 whole eggs, mixed with a little water and thrown in the microwave for 3 mins. Stir and add a little salsa and its pretty good. I cant stand to hard boil them anymore because I cant seem to cook them right and the shell always sticks, little fuckers, dealing with that shit is enough to ruin my entire day.

I've got a busy ass work schedule so I was using tons of whey/milk shakes, 9-10 servings/day until I read the nutritional info.
They average around 20-30% of your day's cholesterol in one serving, wtf! Something to weary of...
