Hi Meli.

I'm not one of the girls but we're all here to help if we can.

There are plenty of boards here on training, diet etc that you can learn alot from. Be sure to check them all out and read through and absorb as much as you can.

Are you new to working out?

It won't be easy to achieve everything in the comfort of your own home Meli, unless you have a decent home gym.

I know it's cold out, but even rugging up and getting outside for a brisk walk a few times a week for 30 minutes will do you wonders.

Diet is also a major contributing factor to looking good, losing fat etc.

Let us know a bit more about your situation in terms of equipment you have at home if any, type of diet you're on etc.

Well.. first of all I use to weigh.. 215 lbs.. i lost that by doing the atkins diet.. eating nothing but protein.. and no carbs.. andthan i got sick of the whole fact of eating and i developed bulemia.. throwing up everything i ate.. i dont want to do that anymore.. it takes a toll on my body.. i need a good diet and i also use to go to the gym... i also had a personal trainer...but than i stopped going.. had other things to deal with..

I know my house is definitly not a place to work .. since I dont have any sort of equipment.. all i have is BODY by JAKE.. buns and thigh machine.. and i also have an ab roller.. and i am a member to the gym here... but its very hard to get there.. i went the other day.. but since i have no car at the moment.. its hard to get there and i cant depend on anyone.. i also have tae bo.. LOL.. so i guess... ill just check out what others have to say about a good diet.. bc i need a goood healthy diet and im sure i can stay home use my ab roller and bun and thigh machine for the time being until i get my car to the to the gym .. or until this horrible weather is gone and its nice and sunny out... but thx for the advice.. ill also look around the board to see what else there is ...

Well congrats on your fantastic weight loss first up.

You're no stranger to eating clean and working out so that's a start.

In order to 'tone' up, you know you will have to do some type of resistance training in order to build muscle.

There are a number of exercises you can do such as pull-ups, push-ups (either using a chair for support or on the ground), dips using a chair or bench, lunges of various types. It is better than nothing. You could perhaps even buy some dumbells. They are not expensive, and they can increase your workout options considerably at home, until you can get back to the gym.

yes... i definitly just need something to work out my legs.. my arms and my stomach are fine.. its my lower body.. that is horrible.. well not horrible..i qoute my b/f "out of shape" so therefor... my main concern is my thighs and my butt.. it wont take much for my arms and my stomach ... my stomach is flat.. and my arms are pretty muscular.. so either way i want everything toned up.... and i have something at home than can help me i just need a well balanced good diet :p

First I would like to commend you on your weight loss. That is an accomplishment in itself. Secondly, I firmly believe where there is a will there is a way and that does apply to working out at home, even with limited equipment. If you have dumbbells you can work out every part of your body including your legs. And if you want to firm up your legs, SQUAT. Start with just your bodyweight, then add weight as needed. Use your imagination. YOu would be surprised at how much weight you can hang on 2 ends of a broomstick.;) Or even invest in a barbell with a few plates. As for diets, try searching for Spatts diets. She has one that has been posted a gazilliion times.

Woohoo congrats on your weight loss thus far!! That's quite an accomplishment! You need to move some real iron and get rid of all those gadgets ;)

I have no idea where you live .. But couldn't you buy a bike? It would get you to the gym w/o a car AND you would train your legs. Of course it can't be compaired to weight training, e.g. squats, but it can do much for the way your legs look (and for your physical fitness in general), and it will make you more independent even w/o a car. But well, easy talking for me, I live in the Netherlands, THE biking country with good biking paths, not too long distances, no big altitude differences etc.... How far away is that gym, how is the road and are there any high hills? Perhaps a mountain bike?

Congratulations on your accomplishments so far! It takes dedication and committment to lose as much as you have already! give yourself a big pat on the back for that!
I noticed nobody mentioned lunges. You can do walking lunges or stationary lunges with dumbbells at home. You don't even need to use dumbbells to start, just lunge, lunge, lunge. If you have a long hallway or a big yard, just do walking lunges back and forth. They're great for toning up the legs and butt!
