Middle Easteners still call blacks "slaves". My friend who came from kuwait and her entire family called blacks "slaves". When she came to Canada, she was told that we don't use that term b/c it's derogatory. She thought everyone used that term.
Of course she no longer uses that term nor will she ever again.

Did they have servants in Kuwait?

Slavery has been around for centuries and it's still alive an well in the modern world and if people still think that slaves are only black and only from Africa then they have a lot to learn.
