what is racism - a long read but should open some eyes

That's a damn good read. Just because it came from a klan site doesn't make one a klansman for agreeing with it. It's still the truth.

The stigma is so great that I know feel a little guilty for aggreeing with it since it came from one of those sites.

One of the problems is the politically correct crowd rewriting history.
Whether it is the blacks, the indians,or the Jones next store.

Blacks were sold into slavery by their own kind, that is a fact. The majority of people in this country are decendents of recent immigrants,(3rd and 4th generation). Our ancestors(White immigrants) came to these shores to escape oppression to find another brand.
The Italians were vilified because they didn't know the language and were menial labors. The Irish were concidered trash as well as Poles. The Germans had a language barrier, but were valued for their different trades and also for the fact that many living in this country at that point had German in their backround.

What did these different nationalities do? They busted their asses, they took any job the could and applied themselves to it.In time they moved their families out of the ghetto.

Alot of blacks are in the same ghetto their forefathers were in.Is it racism that keeps them their? Other races were subjected to the same racism when they came to these shores but they have seemed to moved up in the sceme of things where the black has not.

Another question is the Asians. They have been very succesful in this country without knowing the language. Additionally, it is much harder for any Asian to learn English than it is for a European.

Good point Arialanine that I'd forgotten.

There's Koreans,Vietnamese,Chinese and a host of other Asians that still have problems with the language and have only been in the country for a short time.

Why do they have businesses and other minorities do not?

Supernav;Very few Americans in this country are decended from the Americans that "Took" the Indians lands. So give it a break.

If it wasn't the Europeans it would have been the Japanese, and if it was them,I guaran-fuckin-tee you, there wouldn't be even a memory of the American Indian.

If blacks, for example, are equal to Whites in every way, what accounts for their poverty, criminality, and dissipation? Since any theory of racial differences has been outlawed, the only possible explanation for black failure is White racism. And since blacks are markedly poor, crime-prone, and dissipated, America must be racked with pervasive racism. Nothing else could be keeping them in such an abject state.

Alright, I stopped reading right there.

This is officially garbage.

Well..

Im curious 2thick... if you disagree with it so much... whats you reasoning for it?

Is it really just Whitey keeping them down?

While I personally do not beleive race is the issue... I do think American Black culture is. That "Im a victim" ghetto mentality that is so pervasive among blacks.

The ONLY thing keeping black people down is themselves. If that ghetto culture dissappeared tomorrow... the KKK would soon follow.

It is a complicated issue.

Besides that fact that this article is lumping all black people into one category, it totally ignores that fact that environment leads to certain behaviors. For example, countless scientific studies have been conducted that chronicled a black child growing up in a middle class environment and contrasted that by a white child growing up in an impoverished environment.

The results were clear and consistent. They showed that the child (no matter what race) developed behaviors and attitudes directly related to the environment in which they were raised. The conclusion is simple and well documented. Almost all sane people are born pretty much equal (barring some talents that certain people possess).

This article is garbage because it looks at an environmentally induced set of behaviors and tries to transfer those degenerate behaviors on not only impoverished minorities but all black people/minorities.

People seem to easily forget that only 30 years ago black people could not eat at the same restaurants, drink from the same water fountain, go to the same bathroom, hotels, churches, clubs, schools, colleges or governmental institutions as other Americans.

Those negative effects (that breed ignorance and apathy) are still being weeded out of the inner city slums.

Of course people need to take personal responsibility and fight their way up with hard work and perseverance, but this takes many generations, not just one generation away from government sanctioned segregation.
