So you wake up at 3:30 in the afternoon? what's that all about?

I would replace the fruit with something else for the 2:30am meal. Too close to bed for carbs for my liking. Maybe throw in a can of tuna instead or do you eat fish? Also, why the sour cream?

ya i wake up around 3pm cause the work the grave yard shift.... i know it sux... and the sour cream is because i like it with my potatos and rice :) Cant add tuna, dont eat fish either. Im not too strict with my diet, i try to eat clean and no junk food.

What i'm trying to do is that i want to raise my matabolism by increasing my LBM... and that was i can lose some unwated fat.

why will you have milk products and not eggs? You will never buy a fertal (sp?) egg, so they are nothing more than waste. Add eggs.

Hell add meat... :)

Best luck, sorry no real advice.

I saw some movie where they said adherence to vegan diets is one of the first signs of lesbianism....you also post weird sleep cycle....and use of replacement male hormones. my keen powers of deduction have decidedly deduced diffinitevely that you are one of those infamous British Columbian Lesbian Streetwalkers who have been using pierced hormone enhanced clitorisis to kill rich fetish seeking johns in political positions and take control of the world economy.

Drop all that bread and replace the fruit with vegetables.
Replace the potato with a yam.
All those carbs are going to make you a fatass. Bud you ever hear of Soy protein? More protein less carbs.

yes, soy protein is another excellent option. I would also add some spirulina for the B12.

Some future advice: because you eat no meat, when you diet supplement with some L-Carnitine. That will help you metabolise fat much more effectively.

I eat vegans! And soy protein is not a deesirable complete protein sorce to use as a staple of your protein needs. Excessive phytoestrogens are not my cup of tea. Sorry.

well for everyone who has tired to help, thanks. Other than that, i already said meat isnt an option. I have never ate meat, nor have my parents, and their parents, and their parents... etc.... this is how it's been in my family for years and this is how i was brought up. Also some religious and personal beliefs!

Why is meat some religous thing? Are you one of those rag-head fuckers who did LAX? If so I got one message from you from a aMERICAN patriot dude and that is:

Coward behind a keyboard? Nothing you can say will offend me at this point. Let me tell you why.

I searched the board for your post and spent the last 30 mins laughing my ass off. Being 17 is no excuse for your idiotic behavior. And you have the balls to call yourself "MuscularWarrier" when you weigh 155lbs? Go get yourself a little girlfriend and enjoy being a 17 year old. Go party and have fun. Last but not least; if I would of known your were 17 I never would have said what I did. I apologize

I've grown heaps using soy as my main protein source without meat or chicken or fish. It is a complete protein just as meat is.

Soy's phytoestrogens are actually anti-estrogenic because they bind to estrogen receptors preventing the stronger estrogens in your body from doing so.

That is why consumption soy is recommended to help prevent breast cancer in women.

This is all in your head. This has no basis in fact. However, one thing you certainly are getting when you bulk by eating meat is a hell of a lot of saturated fat.

Well here's a pic of a vegetarian bodybuilder.... i stole this from ulter over on AF....

Bill Pearl age 56 Vegetarian
http://www.shelterpub.com/_fitness/_weight_training/Bill_dumb_color.jpg

"I will again point to Bill Pearl and say yes you can be vegetarian and have 20 inch arms and a great physique. In fact if we have any meat eaters who would like to post their pics showing better developement than Bill I would sure like to see them."

I too would like to see others who say being a vegetarian will take you no where.......

Gt the hell of your high horse HansNZ. O find this to be a common trait in vegetarians by the way. Vegeyatains and their evil sunsect, vegans go against everything the human pirit stands for.Beleive it or not, out biological makeup is ominivorous and we are designed and able to consume and assimilate meat efficiently. And don't tell me that the veggie\ruffage, abuse the shit out of the soybeam to emulate meat mentality is healthy.

Proven fact. The majority of veg heads crave meat, hence the multilation of soy products to serve as a substute for meat. Veggie 'burgers', veggie 'meatloaf' and even these faux chinese vegan restaurants that have these ridiculoous menus with categories like chicken, beef, pork. fish, etc... using various vegetables and soy products to what else? emulate meat products. Most vegetarians and vegans have absolutely no clue what fine, pure tofu even tastes like. It's unhealthy, raisesestrogen levels in men, along with promoting excessively high insulin levels leading to type-II diabetes in many veg heads. Not to mention that most vegetarian looks like absolute physical shit, cause they're not getting adeqaute complete proteins and nutrients on a daily basis.

You want to live your life meat free. Fine, I could care less, but don' try and patronize the majority who eat meat and spew your propaganda about the benefit of an animal free diet. People here have defended you and you stil come off as a pompous asshole, who thinks you know it all and expect the world to cater to your annoying needs. Eat vegetarian, then eat only at veggie friendlyrestaurants or stay at home. I can't stand vegetarians who go to regular eateries and give the total restaurant staff a hassle, cause they think their needs are special and everyone should bend over backwards to agree with their criteria. And no, I doubt you will maxiize possible gains on a vegetarian diet, unless the majority of ypur protein needscome from things such as whey, casein(cottage chese), other milk derived profucts, etc... And stop trying to convince yourself that soy has no estrogenic properties and in fact is antiestrogenic cause you're living in a dreamworld if you sincerely beleive that bullshit.

please prove this "proven fact".... i would like to know why i crave meat because you say so.... even though i dont because i dont even know what it taste like, nor do i care....

I have been a vegetarian for several years. There is plenty of protein in my shake, milk, cheese, vege burgers., pasta, so I have no problem growing.
I've never craved meat in all this time. I couldn't care less about it. I'll take cheese ravioli in maranara sauce over a burger any day.
BTW- Sometimes when it's hot out I wear a rag on my head too.
I think most of the idiots on this thread are trying to use their Americanism, or what they say is such, as some right to bash others who don't think the way they do. Which is as anti-American as anything I can think of. It has also escaped most of you that Aky is in Canada. Oh let me guess you hate Canadians too. Well I grew up in Chicago and we didn't learn that this was the American way.

Wow. I never realized there was so much anger towards Vegetarians. It's kinda funny actually.
Anyway my ex-girlfriend was a modern Nazi Vegetarian and she turned me on to Soy protien. I eat alot of red meat, too much in my opinion, so having the option of having a Soy burger or Soy bacon is a nice lowfat low cholesterol alternative. I don't get an upset stomach from it, and it tastes fine to me.
As far as what soy foods specifically I'm eating almost all is pre-made food. Morning Star, Boca, the whole bunch I find good.

BTW - I also drink Soy milk.

As far as putting on muscle goes, I work out with a dude that is a straight up Vegan, real strict diet. He's quite jacked. I have no idea where it comes from, but apparently you can build muscle on a rabbit diet.
BTW - He's very much the patriot.

Look at Kevin Eubanks (Tonight Show). He is a vegetarian and, although he is not huge by our standards, he isnt exactly a small guy either.

I believe thats because he is black. :)

Aky, you want me to prove the fact that most vegetarians xrave meat? That was a generalized statemtn, not an overgeneralized one, hence UI used the word majority and not 'all.' you don't crave meat, good for you. But if you have an objective bone in your body and aren't blindsisded by your beleifs you'll see that the all these soy products you find that are veggie friendly look like meat, are shaped like meat, share a bad version of a similar taste and texture of meat, etc... Are you going to tell me that these products are not prevalent in vegan restaurants and health food markets. Unless your blind you've obviously noticed.

And I do beleive vegetarians can build a good physique as long as their lacto-ovo vegetarians and consume dairy products as their staple protein souce as opposed to soy. I actually like soy, but I eat it the way it was supposed to be eaten for centuries by the Japanese, then Chinese and Koreans. Most vegetarian have never even tried asiian versions of soy products, cause they don't look like a burger patty or a cheap imitation of a hot dog.

So, I have no problem with vegetarians as long as they keep their beleifs and opinions to between themselves and don't give a hassle to people in the food service industry, thinking they owe them some special treatment. Like I already stated previously, if you're so anal don't dine out at regular restaurants and expect the cooks to meet some ridiculous demands that I have heard vegetarian demand, like cooking their food in pans, which have never had meat in them, etc... Whatever?! If you have that type of abrasiveness, then I hope they do cook your food in lots of lard. If you're not a not pompous asshole, who doesn't think you're vegetarian beleifs make you superior to the majority who make up meat-eaters, then I have np problem with that.

This is crazy!!!!! Why in the blue hell do some of you get so pissed when someone tells you they don't eat meat? I am not a vegetarian by any standards, being that I eat meat 5 out of the 8 meals that I eat all day. If they don't want to eat meat, so be it. Being a national level BB I will tell you that I would have never got to were I am without meat though. To each his own I guess. I would like to know though aky, why you have chosen to follow your families diet habits? Didn't you ever eat meat when you were young? I am not being smart here, just would like to know.

i never once complained of and restaurants.... and i dont expect special treatment, nor do i think "vegetarian beleifs make you superior to the majority" ..... where are you getting is bull shit from..... no on here said they "give a hassle to people in the fool industry".....

If you are one who eats food in the the way it was supposed to be eaten for centuries, then why dont you go hunt ur food down, and cook it over a fire...... like the cave men use to do!!!!! i know this sounds stupid, but this is honestly how you sound.......

I never once bashed any meat eat-eaters, i simply just asked about my diet and lifestyle.......

My hat goes off to you bro in some way----I couldn't live without meat!!!!

Just a comment/suggestion: have you ever tried those liquid amino fuel concentrates???? It may be something you can add to your meatless regimine for a protein source ---I'm sure you're looking for options..........Peace

I'm willing to bet alot of money that you've never obtained any post-secondary education in your life.

WTF does Aky's choice to be a vegetarian have to do with assaulting your country and sense of patriotism?

BTW dumbass, several religions in this world make use of a turban, which you affectionately refer to as a rag-head. Guess what dipshit, alot of those religions have nothing to do with being a muslim, they are completely different practices. Did any of those high jackers have a turban during 9/11? Next time you see a person wearing a turban, consider the fact that he may not even be a muslim.

Save some money on some meat and protein and go invest it in an education.

This is the funniest, or most pathetic (sp?) post I have ever read. Though I was pathetic enough to read the whole thing. This has gone from someone asking for help to a debate over meat and american spirit. Sad, very sad. I lived with a true american non-meat-eating girl. She never came off as a nazi, or anything close... unless I forgot to do the dishes;)

She even let me eat meat with no "preaching" about it. I even learned how to cook some great meals that don't include meat. Meals I still eat today.

I am sad to see someone with so little openness claiming they are this way because they are a good American. It is not what the American image needs. Proud to be an American, cause at least I know I'm free... free to not eat meat I think would fit here.

Best luck with your diet. Sorry I have no help to offer.

MuscularWarrier (btw, what the fuck is with the spelling on this?), time and time again - in your short membership here at elitefitness, you prove to be undeniably retarded and closed minded. Eating habits relating to anti-patriotism? Your fucking stupid. Like others suggest, I think a real education would do you good. Keep your mouth shut and learn, or live with being hated.

To AKY, soy would probably be your best bet for protein sources and trading fruits for veggies would be a wise choice. Also, if you have the time - if you were a real vegan, you wouldnt consume cottage cheese or any other dairy products. Why are you selective on the animal products that you eat? I understand not eating them, or eating them.. So enlighten please.

Well I wasn't aware that I was on my high horse. I quite neutrally stated the facts. Where did all this human spirit/pseudo-scientific goobledy gook come from? Are you mentally stable?

Proven fact. The majority of veg heads crave meat, hence the multilation of soy products to serve as a substute for meat. Veggie 'burgers', veggie 'meatloaf' and even these faux chinese vegan restaurants that have these ridiculoous menus with categories like chicken, beef, pork. fish, etc... using various vegetables and soy products to what else? emulate meat products.

I don't crave meat. Like horsemeat or cat or dog meat I just don't consider it food. As for the substitute meat I find that is the sort of stuff that meat eaters buy me because they think that if I don't want to eat meat then I must want something that tastes like meat.

You talk about facts even though it is a long established fact that soy is indeed a complete protein. I have hardly seen evidence to show that consumption of something like soy is detrimental to people's health. In fact it seems to be linked to more and more positive benefits all the time.

You want to live your life meat free. Fine, I could care less,

Well obviously you do care less otherwise you wouldn't have had this hysterical irrational outburst.

but don' try and patronize the majority who eat meat and spew your propaganda about the benefit of an animal free diet. People here have defended you and you stil come off as a pompous asshole, who thinks you know it all and expect the world to cater to your annoying needs.

Yikes! You read all this into my two small posts? All I did was diagree with statements which have no basis in fact. How is me disagreeing with you "pompous and expecting everyone to cater to my needs", when you yourself have made disagreeing comments.

Eat vegetarian, then eat only at veggie friendlyrestaurants or stay at home. Actually science disagrees with you. I never got nasty, I merely stated a fact that meat is no more bioavalable than soy and that red meat is hardly the only "proven" way to gain mass which you asserted.

puts hair on yur chest son!!!!!!

just kiddin man, I was vegetarian for about a year when i was 13.
you gotta watch out what you eat though. to refrain from meat is ok, but you should suppl. with iron and others. have you ever tried FRY CHIK in the can?? that is good shit. loaded with protein. good luck.................." come join the dark side"

Geez! It's posts like these that make my days interesting :D

Being an omnivore or a vegetarian is an individual choice, and to each his own. But, to lash out at someone for being a vegetarian, or vice versa is completely uncalled for. The brashing comes off as ignorace, and cancels out any valid opinions you may have had. What ever happend to intellectual debates?? I guess when people realize that their opinions are just that......opinions.

I was a vegetarian for 6 years, but have now been eating meat for a year now. Being a healthy vegetarian is hard work, and a lot harder than being a healthy omnivore. I can't speak for everyone, but this is defintely the case for me. I ate very healthy for those 6 years, but never once felt as good as I do now (and the only thing changed was my diet).

Humans have been eating meat for so long that our bodies have evolved to the point where it is a requirment in our diet. Times have changed, and obviously we have ways of getting almost the same nutrients from non-meat products, so technically, the partaking of meat can be bypassed with the meat substitues and supplements.

The important thing is to make sure you are getting the nutrients your body needs to grow.

Aly, I've dined out with several (which was several more than enough vegetarians, one bveing an ex-stepsister) and I work in the food service industry. So I think I know a little bit more about what goes on in restaurants than you do. So don't even try and tell me that I don't know what goes down in restaurant kitchens and the front of house. There are quite a number of vegetarians, who will go out of their way to give the whole restaurant crew a problem, with their frivolus and ridiculous demands and substitutions. It's as if they expect the whole line to just stop and work their ass off to omit things from this appetizer, obliterate an entree into a new creation, etc... It serves to slow the whole service down, which affects other diners meals as well.

I'm not making blanket stereotypes here, but instead just making objective observations about 'most' vegetarians\vegans.' You are not most, are you? You are an individial, or at least I'd like to beleive that, so plrease stop countering my arguments with. "Well, I don't do that or I don't crave meatr so that can't be true about others." That's called denial and it ends up with you being the one who's stereotyping your own subvulture. Perhaps you just don't dine out on your own or with many other non-meat eaters, so you don;t see or fail to realize hoe rude, difficult and arrogant a large majortiy are, cause that is very well the case.

This is by no means a flame against you. Just my opionion on the vast majortiy of vegetarians, with their holier than thou mentality. You don;t beleive in killing and eating animals, that's cool. But don't fopr a second pull that hype about how much healtheir it is for you, cause that's just not the case. Hoe many latrge, muscular vegetarians do you see? They exist, but are far and few in between. And stop using Pearl as an example, cause out of all the bodybuilders of that time, he was the only one who reached the upper ecelon of the sport and no doubt, genetic played a huge role in overcoming his dieting flaws. How many Olympia contenders do we have in the present who are vegetarians? Uh, zero, so there is definitely a positive correlation there. Because it is a flaw to follow a vegetarian diet, if you want to maximize muscular gains, unless maybe perhaps you consume loads of milk derived protein sources on a daily basis, which can get too repetetive and tedious over time and still may not maximize possible results.

u know what, you do you think u are.... telling me what and what not to say. first off ur bringing up the food industry for what reason? Did anyone mention anythiing about the food industry? Even if it does exist, who give a flying fuck..... get over it!!!! This seems to be your problem so deal with it.... quit crying about it..... you keep on bringing it up....

And i never said iwhat is healither and what is not! I dont know which is more healthier and i dont care, becuase i dont eat meat, and that's fine with me.... it seems like you have more of a problem than i do about not eating meat....... fuck grab a life...... and go FUCK YOUSELF!!!!!!!!!

Why do I bring up the food industry? Are you that fucking comatose that you don't see a connection between the two? Vegetarians as well as their omnivorous counterparts don't dine out and shop for food? Do you still forage for all your nuts and berries like your ancient ancestors who were foragers or grow your own vegetables in your garden or on your farm? No, I didn't think so. So, if you are so out of the loop that you cant even compregend a correlation between the food industry and customers of all types, yet instead choose to personally attack me verbally, then you've proven yourself toi be an outstanding fucking moron.

And I never said soy wasn't a complete protein, just not an optimal one, so I suggest you don't lash out so quickly since you seem like the stubborn type who hear what you want to hear and can't anaalyze things objectively. Good luck compromising your bodybuilding goals with your rabbit food diet and high estrogen levels which bear a negative correltion with testosterone levels.

Geez, why did it turn so negative.

AnabolicusEroticus...you may say you are not putting a stereotype on vegetarians, but that's what it sounds like to me. You even go as far to say "most vegetarians....". I'm sorry you have had bad run-ins with vegetarian diners, but that doesn't nearly cover "most".

You really seem to have a deep hatred for vegetarians. I know many vegetarians, and none of them would ever cause a scene at a restaraunt such as you describe. But I guarantee you get the same percentage of complaints/special orders from meat eaters as well. Obviously there are more meat eaters, therefore it seems less frequent.

I've asked a couple of my friends whom are cooks at restaraunts to see if they have the same complaints, and neither do. They have had a couple requests that they either met or turned away, but the denials never escalated. Sorry you've had such bad luck.

Also some religious and personal beliefs!

That explains the meat issue,

You are going to have to load up on soy, Cheese, whey protein, and tons of green veggies,

I suspect you don't eat cheese or whey either-bummer

Soy burgers aren't bad, nor are veggie burgers, some how you need to minimize your carbs and increase both fat and protein, take this to the diet board,

Less political too
