Help me get motivated again

I need some serious help to get motivated again....

two years ago I was on a mission to get in better shape, and it worked wonders. I entered the Body for Life challenge and made it to the top 3 in my category in both years (came first in my first year :)). I have gained about 7kilos, about 15 pounds since then and cannot get myself back into the program :(

Everytime I start a diet or start training seriously I fail misearably after the first week. I think my body has just had enough of dieting, my diet was super clean and I think it just wants a break. Thats cool, no prob I understand that, but now I want to break out of that habit and get back in top shape, maybe even compete??

I know I can do it, Im currently at 26% body fat and it was down to 13% two years ago, also I weighed 15lbs lighter with better muslce definition. I know that I can do it, I think I just need a constant reminder to help me get motivated and stay there :)

How do you guys get yourself mentally charged up? Im sure that Im not the only one who is going through or has gone through this "crappy" period :)

post a pic in a bikini.......

put oit on your fridge....

OR.......pop it on here along with a time/weight goal

Take before pictures - seeing yourself out of shape will definately spur you on. It can be frightening!

Take pictures every 3-4 weeks to see progress. Sometimes it is hard seeing progress in the mirror....so pictures tell a better tale.

Set monthly goals - attainable goals. But also have a "bigger picture" goal that you want to attain. Reaching those smaller goals o nthe way will make you feel more confident. Without small goals, the bigger one can seem unattainable on "down days".

That's worked best for me. Focus on a very specific goal and have a positive attitude going in. Plan your meals & your training very specifically and look at it more as your to-do list than as a diet. Take out the emotion and just make it a project that requires that you do your daily stuff & wait for a period of time to see the results. Kind of annoying waiting thru the day-to-day, but it also helps if you have another project or somethign that allows you time to do what you have to do on diet & training, but keeps your mind off the agony of it all. Then before you know it, your battle w/ the first week has passed.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the first week is ALWAYS the hardest. It takes at least a week to get your body into the flow of it. You REALLY have to want it and PUSH yourself through that week. It will be much easier in the weeks to follow. You can't expect your body to like changes in routine right away.

Good luck!

Ya ive got pics, stats, the whole toot :) I think its getting past how difficult the first week actually is, in fact, more like the first month.

I just need to re-set all my goals again, think thats the missing piece to the puzzle :)

Thanks for all your helps
