Long story short, I was at a client dinner last night and I got shithammered on wine, I mean like really fucked up. I ended up drinking 4 bottles myself. Afterwards we went to a nudie bar and when I got home I went to sleep. I woke up at like 5 a.m. and there was red wine/vomit on my fucking carpet. I don't recall the incident and honestly I don't recall much after 8 p.m.

How in the hell do I clean this up?

is the vomit red as in wine?

I think you are fucked and will need a new carpet.

next time, drink white wine

klu will come over and bissell it up
yes i will
ive been shampooing carpets this morning
but of course, it will cost you

so the stain is completely dry?
Try to wet vac it up. Do not scubb it because then the stain will set in more....and you dont want that.
Hopefully your carpet is a newer type that is liquid resistant (easier to clean)
I suggest you wet vac it but dont pull down to hard. if that doesnt work then try getting a new carpet.

Cut the carpet out in a circle around the puke and cut a similar circle out of a closet that has the same carpet. Move the stained carpet into the closet and the fresh out.

Should I call Stanley Steamers?

if you can. otherwise, rent a steam cleaner from the grocery store.
if it was red (like red wine) and your carpet is light, and the stain has been sitting there, there's a good chance it won't come out.

be carefull with with any carpet cleaners...they try to cram & stuff any advertised specials....I've has similar experiences..but generally I get up in the middle of the night plastered and urinate in the corner....one time I pulled out the keyboard {on a slider} and peed on it...guess I thought I was in the bathroom....I no longer drink due to these incidents and a few others including, fighting, fat girls,coke,ext............

pay me and I will come cleanit for you....in the mean time put cat litter on it to suck up the wet

If the stain is still damp, you can get the majority of the stain out however there will be a red tint to it regardless of who comes and cleans it.

It has discolored the fibers of the carpet therefore it is permanent.

If it has dried, buy an area rug and put over it.

NOt sure if anyone has said it but USE WHITE WINE!! Dump a bottle on it! SeriouslY! Just try it it will work!

Pretty sure only rookies don't know how much they can handle. I was learning how to stumble before you were learning how to crawl.

1. Clean up as much as you can of any umm, solid material.

2. Wet the spot down with COLD water, you DON'T want this to dry.

3. Now listen to RedGuru and go get some of that Oxyclean stuff, attack the hell out of the spot with that, first.

4. Don't use a steam cleaner until the spot has been pulled out, the heat will set it in.

This is not a lost cause ... yet. Just don't cook the stain in or you're done.

That's why the one web link posted in here suggests hydrogen peroxide mixed with dish detergent. Same concept as oxyclean.

Crap Sawastea, four bottles of wine? Id be on my tulips in the backyard after three

if you have a white carpet, spray bleach on it and let it soak... works all the time. otherwise , laundry detergent (Biz or Tide) will get it out.. good luck

There is a product called Wine Away. They sell it at Upscale bars, stores selling wine, etc.

It will take the red wine out of carpet, clothing, etc. I have used it a number of times

BTW...It doesn't work on everything. I have tried to spray it on my monitor when the females here are posting.

Carpet is nasty. Give me hardwood or give me death.
agreed. and slate or some type of stone for the kitchen and bathrooms.

I detest hardwood. I feel like it's dirty/dusty all the friggin time.

That's how I feel about carpet. Like there's always more filth and allergins hiding between the fibers and in the mat than you can ever vacuum up.

My fucking deposit will be thrown out the window with this shit. I will have my hands full when I get home tonight. I went to the local jackangel store and bought oxyclean, dawn dishwashing soap, hydrogen peroxide.

When I get home I'll throw it on top. Do I have to pat the rug with a towel or let it soak?

Preferably a white towel. A colored one might bleed onto the carpet.

Did you do the "Thank you..come again" thing from Harold & Kumar to the clerk??

When I get home I will post pictures...

The worst part is that it spread all over the carpet, not just in a small area

steam clean, oxy clean or try windex after you scrub the spot w/ hot water and soap......good luck.............

Well, you're a cat owner ... cat's barf, that's all there is to it. IMO, you either buy carpet the color of cat barf from the get go or stick with hardwood.
