Well that assumption or fact is with a person that doesn't not perform the same exercise regimin as we do, or else they wouldn't be fat? Right? So sedentary people can get away with < 1g of protein / lb of body weight. I guess what I am saying is your 500-1000 cals better contain atleast 1.5-2g/lb of body weight or else it is ineveitable.
