Hammer curls?

What is the function of hammer curls? How do they work differently than regular curls? Do they make the bicep wider, thicker, bigger peak, what?

They target the brachialis(sp?) muscle which is located on the outer portion of your arm between the bicep and the tricep. This is a lesser known muscle and often forgotten, however it will add size to your arms because when it grows it pushes both bicep and tricep outwards. Those with good brachialis development are immediately noticeable as you will have a nice bulge between the bicep and tricep. Those lacking development in this muscle are also noticeable as they won't have this extra thickness.

good info bro hope to see more where that came from...:D

b22md: i agree cross chest hammers are good for gettin the brachialis

i think regular hammers also hit the bi's pretty well too. overall it's a real good exercise, helped me add some size quickly when i first put it in my workout.
