Nope. You need to look at the GI of carbs. Whole wheat pasta is much different than white pasta.
I'm a low carb kinda guy because my body responds to it better but check out this link.
More or less, the lower the GI, the better. And you can work around it to eat the foods you like/crave
For example, oats are better than wheat bread. Eziekal bread is your substitute
