Getting to squat 315 questions

Hey bros,
squatting 315 is my short term goal, the max I have been able to lift is 250lbs, has anyone here squatted in their first year of trying it ever 315 ever? how long did it take you to make it? 7 months ago I started squatting 185lbs for 7 reps and my progress has been good but now I'm stuck at 250lbs.

The longer you have been training, the harder it will be to make further progress because your body is used to the stimulus of weight training.

You make immediate and rapid 'noobie' gains your first few months training because you have never weight trained before and its a completely new stimulus to the body. It is very easy for a new lifter to put close to 100 pounds on their squat in 6 months (like you experienced).

As you get more experienced, strength gains will still occur, they will just be slower. What I would do is try to add a small 2.5 pound plate to each side of the bar each time you squat. That might not seem like a lot but if you do that every workout, in 10 workouts you will have added 50 pounds to your squat!

If you can squat 250 for 6 reps, next workout try to squat 255 for 6 reps. The workout after that try to squat 260 for 6 reps and so on.
