Getting the burn

Photobear

New member
Hey bros,

Lately I have not been getting a good burn when working out. I haven't changed anything in my workout other than the usual swapping exercises. I hooked up with the trainer for a week to have him watch me and he says my intensity looks good. I'm getting sore from most stuff but just not getting that burn. Anything you guys do that always gets ya burnin'?

Thanks,
P-bear

I think if you can do a set to failure within 8-10 reps, you are good to go, burn or no burn.

Doing any set to 20-30 reps will definitely cause a burn, but that is arguably not the most efficient for muscle development.

If you don't get a burn be happy. The burn = lactic acid accumulation which is a big factor in muscle fatigue and failure. Lactic acid really doesn't do anything for muscle growth, it just causes pre-mature fatigue/failure, which means you can't stimulate your muscles as well.

Yup. I think "the burn" was listed on the BB Myths thread. Like Robboe and those guys said, only feel it on calves, that's about it.
