Hello everyone! I'm so pleased to be starting this adventure :) ! I began a new way of eating yesterday and incorporated exercise and today I am going to begin logging everything i eat and do.
height= about 60 in.
weight= 108-110lbs (scales is not working, so this is an estimate)
measurements=Bust: 34.5
waist: 29
hips: 34
buns: 35.5
upper thigh: 19
above knee: 13.5 (excess fat here)
upper arm: 11.5
calves: 13 1/8
I have excess fat everywhere, especially stomach.
My goals are to reduce body fat considerably and gain some muscle strength and definition. I want to look muscular.
I don't have really any muscle tone right now, so i'm hoping I won't have trouble gaining muscle.
*I would love any constructive criticism and tips you all can give me. That is one purpose of my logging.*

This morning I was pretty sore from last nights workout :) No cardio this am.

1 protein shake 6 oz water, 3 ice, 1 tsp sugar free banana pudding, 1 scoop vanilla whey.
22 oz water in addition

12 pm 1/3 c. oatmeal mixed with 2/3 water, 1 pkt art.sweetener, cinnamon.
8 oz water

lunch: 1:45 pm met dh at red lobster. I ordered broiled flounder, with garden salad, ranch dressing on the side ( i used 1/2 the little container) No croutons, and Brocolli was my side. Boy those biscuits smelled good, but none for me :) I drank 2 glasses of water with lunch.

GOOD JOB HERE!!! It's hard to keep it in line when going out to eat. Bread is one of my weaknesses - you did better than I would have! :)

Thanks scorpiogirl! I had my mind set, i was NOT gonna get off track. :angel:

dinner: about 1 c or little less salad mix, with 1/2 c. xtra lean ground beef seasoned with a little taco seasoning, tbs cheddar, 4 grape tomatoes, very small amount of lite ranch dressing.(maybe 2 tsp.) :p not bad at all!
Diet pepsi, 2 green tea caps.
Felt pretty good today, although a bit of a headache hanging around.
Hams are pretty sore, but not to where i'm walking funny ;) also inner thighs are sore. I'd like to feel more soreness in the rear, tummy and quads than i do though. Maybe i didn't work them hard enough. But my knees hurt today, so i can only do so much i guess.
 
did chest and back tonight.
3 sets 12 chest presses w/10 lb dumbells
3 sets 12 incline chest presses with 10 lb dbs
3 sets 12 flyes with 8 lb dbs 1 set with 10lb dbs
3 sets 12 rows with a 10 lb db did these bent over with knee on bench.
need to find more exercises for my back that i can do with the equip. i have.

Tomorrow bis and tris and shoulders :)

You did well, I know if I was at redlobster (one of my favorite places) God I would have a really really hard time sticking to my diet. I'd have to definately save it as a cheat meal. LOL WTG GOOD JOB!!!

*pro shake afterward (2 tsp s/f banana pudding mix, 1 scoop whey, 6 oz water, 3 ice cubes* really hungry. Gonna try to eat some oatmeal b4 i go.
Hams are still really sore this am :worried: also the fronts of my lower legs.
Hurts to go potty :mix: , squatting. Not really sore in chest or back area yet.
May have to go heavier, and find more exercises to do. Unsure of how many diff. exercises i should do for each part :confused:

got pretty hungry around 5:30ish; so i ate a quaker rice cake with a tiny amt of nat. peanut butter on it.
Rice cakes are 35 cals, 7 carbs, 1 pro, 0 fat. Ingredients: Whole grain brown rice , salt.
 
ate another 1/2 rice cake plain.

dinner: 2 boiled eggs, 1/2 small sweet potato with spray i can't believe it's not butter and some cinnamon. :p Now that's some good crap ;) Never experienced sweet potato b4.

LOL!!! Don't be worried....just take it a little easier on these "parts" next workout! I LOVE it when I can get this sore in my glutes, calves and abs! GREAT feeling!

As far as how many sets and exercises to do for each muscle group...some do 1 body part per week, some do two, some do full upper and full lower 2-3x per week. You just need to figure out what works best for you and what you're the most comfortable with. Whatever you do....DON'T work a bodypart that's still sore. Let it heal first. :)

Glad that you're posting your log. I'm trying to see what is your daily diet, By looking at your ratios I can say that there are things you need to include and others that you can change. Can you post your diet all together in order to make recommendations?

meal 3: 3 0z beef pot roast with a few mushrooms and 1/2 c. green beans
meal 4: 1 and 1/2 whole grain rice cake with dab of natural pnt btr on top of 1
meal 5: 2 boiled eggs
1/2 small sweet potato with cinnamon and butter flavored spray
meal 6: protein shake

Fasting cardio, 1 mi on treadmill. Had to cut it verrry short because i thought i was gonna hurl :sick: So i went and made my shake real quick like.
meal 1: pro shake with 2 frozen strawberries. I still feel wierd, hope i'm not getting the flu, i'm going to a stage show tonight with my daughter and spent $$ for the tickets.
Hoping it's just low blood sugar or something.

Oh I hope your not getting sick!! It could be that you were just really hungry. I start feeling sick if my blood sugar gets to low. How did you feel after you had your shake?
 
i've ate my oats and shake and still feel "odd" and slightly nauseous.
I think i probably have a bug, but i haven't actually gotten sick yet. :sick:
If i can coast through the rest of the day like this, i'm going to that show and nothing's gonna stop me ;)
 
meal 2: salad mix , added spinach leaves (10) 3 strawberries sliced, carb options itallian dressing.
can of tuna water packed, minus what i had to share with son, 2 tsp mir. whip lite, mustard, 6 triscuit crackers.

Thank you, an initial point is that you try to include a source of protein in every meal. Personally I prefer to take protein from natural sources, other than just shakes because even though they provide me the protein needed the nutrients chicken, fish or meat provide are beneficial to your body.

On the other hand, try to include more fiber in your diet... like the one found with green veggies (green beans, chayote, spinach, cucumber, nopal.. etc). You need this in order to help digest your food better.

Now talking about fats, try to get your ratios around 30% that will be more or less 20-30g.

had a few cheese it's today, oopsie :chomp: 5 i think.
dinner: dinner at moms, 1 1/2 pork loin boneless chops baked in pork gravy, about 3/4 c. cooked broc/cauli with some cheese. I passed on the mashed potatoes (yay for me). Should've stopped at one chop though.

no workout tonight..was at "Oklahoma" all evening...awesome show!!

Do your best to stay away from gravy. It's made with a lot of saturated fat - not the kind of fat you want. You could have had the mashed potatoes (1/2 cup to a cup) providing they weren't smothered in butter and salt. Don't eat the yolks in the boiled eggs. I try to only eat 1 yolk per 3-4 whites. Just trying to give you a few pointers here that will help you reach your goal. If you're just starting all of this, it takes some getting use to, but you will feel much better mentally and physically when you get it cleaned up. :)

Oh yeah I use to love making sausage gravy and biscuits. And being a country girl it's a comfort food here, oy it's still a big temptation for me so I don't make it at all.
 
I know the gravy is just the dry stuff in the packet and mixed with water i think. Is that the one that you meant? She doesn't make "homeade" gravy i think maybe that's what you thought.. i dunno.
mom probably had plenty of butter in those taters, so i avoided them. carbs bloat me anyways.
as for the yolks....wah wah :( i don't want the eggs if i can't have the yolks. I guess i'll just eat one from now on. I actually hate egg whites :worried:

30 min. pre breakfast cardio
protein shake w/ 2 tsp s/f banana pudding mix, 2 frozen strawberries :p I loves me some protein shakes. Can't wait to try some other brands/flavors. I get mine at walmart currently. I am about out of the vanilla, don't care much for the chocolate i have...i tastes tooooo i dunno, not chocolatey enough i guess..

Save them for your cheat day. I love "dippy yolks" with toast. Eggs over medium. YUMMMMMM!!!!

I don't like the whites either!!! lol I have to force myself to eat them unless it's a boiled egg....just plug your nose!!!! lol

I totally love dip eggs too with buttery toast.......mmmmMMMMMmmmm!!!
I have learned to eat eggs without toast...that was tuff!

Feel so terribly bloated after the weekend. I ate bad carbs sat. at my cheat meal. I also ate some pizza king pizza sun. I was so sick and unable to do anything so dh picked up a pizza for our dinner.
I wonder why my body bloats up so terrible when i eat certain things. :confused:

I know she is trying to fit in, but at the expense of changing who she is??? I worry about her alot. Fortunately, i am a sahm and always here for her and just hoping i'm doing things right and this is just about her age. I know she will be soon having her cycles, she already gets crampy and crabby (lol).
Mine did the same thing. Had to pull her out of school her Sophmore year and complete HS online. She's now 17 has a diploma and is a dbl major in medical school. - but on probation for making stupid decisions and hanging with the wrong people.
 
Wow! Well sounds like she has a bright career ahead of her. :) I hope my daughter will get her head screwed on right.

Did great this am, but was in a huge hurry at lunch and ate 2 small leftover pieces of pizza :worried: then while i was out i got a dq hamburger...and ate 1/2 the bun.*i know that didn't help* :rolleyes:
Since then i've ate 3 more smaaaaallll pieces of pizza. Bunny you better warm that whip up, cuz I need a bunch more lashings. :evil:
I don't know why i can't get it together today! I guess I shouldn't have cheat meals, it throws me off so badly.

When I was in the UK this past couple of weeks, I ate mostly carbs; lots of bread products, potatoes, pastry etc. I bloated up like a balloon, even my rings were too tight. If you don't hydrate yourself and eat high carbs, you hold on to the water and lo and behold, you end up looking like the Pilsbury Doughboy.

I asked Bunny about her high water intake (10-11 liters in one day at times). She drinks more when she cheats. I've upped my water the past couple of days and feel much slimmer for it.

Plus :velvett: not for you though, for dh. Tell him he has to learn to cook healthy foods for you!!!!!! LOL!!!!
 
meal 5: 2 boneless, skinless chicken tenders (recipe below), 1/2 sweet potato, with butter flavored spray and cinn. water

skillet chicken dijon
..........................
4 boneless/skinless chicken breasts
3 tbs olive oil ( i used 2 or less)
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbs white wine
3 tbs soy sauce
2 tbs. dijon mustard

Heat oil in skillet, then add the garlic and cook , stirring often about 3 min. Add the chicken breasts and saute until browned. In a separate bowl mix wine, soy sauce, and mustard. Pour generously over the chicken. Cover and cook until done. Spoon the sauce over the chicken when serving, or pour extra sauce into small dipping dishes to serve. Serves 4.
 
barbell squats 3/15 reps
dumbell split squats 3/15 20lb total
st. legged deads 3/12 bar + 20lbs
calf raises (off edge of treadmill) holding 10lb db 3/12
inner thigh raises *ok i made this one up, hooked one of those fitness bands onto the handle of my treadmill and hooked the other to my foot and distanced myself enough from the t.mill to get a good burn on the raise. 3/15 *these gave me a good hurtin* :)
unfortunately i ate a bowl of raisin bran b4 this workout :RADAR :smash:

Girl that's all I ate when I went there also. I was so sick of bread when I got back to the states it wasn't even funny! That was the only thing I found I could eat and not feel sick or discusted.
 
1.5 miles on the treadmill/fasted. Increased and decreased speed and incline.
meal1: protein shake with 2 strawberries, 1 pkt splenda, 1/2 oatmeal 1 pkt splenda, cinnamon, also took 2 l-glutamine pill, 1 green tea before workout. Normally take 2 but ran out.
16 oz water in addition to shake.

Mmmmmmm....this sounds good. Drink lots of water with it though, due to the sodium in the soy.
 
well i didn't eat so well yesterday.
Went out to eat and ate a few tortilla chips and 1 white tortilla shell. :worried:

m1: pro shake, 1/4 c. cott. cheese 1%, 1 scoop whey, 6oz water, 3 icecubes, 12 blueberries, 3 strawberries, 1 splenda.+ 2 green tea and 2 l-glutamine pills.

:worried: no cardio today! I am sick again...the glands on the back of my neck are killing me, losing my voice, and i have gotten strep throat from ds. I feel like crap ! I am going to really work hard to make excellent food choices today, since i may not feel like working out at all. Today is going to be tris, bis, shoulders day if i do it. :heart:

meal 3: got the munchies, ate a few triscuits.(garden herb) they are tooo good. Ate probably 1.5-2 servings worth.
meal 4: meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, water, water , water and more water.
*I'm feeling really discouraged because it seems everytime i weigh myself my weight is going up instead of down, most recent was 109.5 this am, can't remember if this was b4 or after protein shake.

Before bed snack: 2 tsp nat. pnt butter., more water. It's a good thing my throat is so dry and sore because it's helping me get more water in :verygood:

If you have streph throat you are better off not even bothering working out since you have a virus. You my as well focus on getting sleep and recuperating, IMO. Get better then worry about it.
Look at why you are gaining weight... What have you done different? I mean are you stressed, not having as good of work-outs, food choices.... Get better, eat right, get to the gym, and after a week weigh yourself again. Again IMO...

I went back a page on your log and saw too much going out to eat or not the best food choices. One day I saw a calorie intake of 996 - or something like that? That's too low for you. You need to be around 1100. Make sure your getting your cardio in and you really need to find a solution for your training - I know you've been trying.

If you're sick drink a lot of water, take a few meds - but don't start eating whatever because you don't feel well. (being sick really sucks when it comes to staying on track with the diet). Hope you feel better! :)
 
Yeah, I have kicked the water up a notch. My dry throat has helped with that.
We got out to eat every weekend 1x or 2x. I try to make the best choices but last weekend i wanted a reward meal and it threw me off for most of the wk end.
996 cals. :confused: I'll have to go through my logs and see. I am usually 1100-1300 i think. at least that's what comes to mind.
I am hoping to make some workout changes. :)

looking back at my log, i haven't had enough clean eating days to see changes , i would imagine.
I still want to kick up the workouts, I just don't get a sweat.
But, that being said, I have never really been a sweater. I guess I just feel I could work harder.
 
meal 2: salad with spinach leaves(20 or so) small handful of lett.(premade mix) and 5 cherry tom, 10 cucumber slice, 1 tbs or so of light ranch.
2 chicken tenders (dijon chicken)

They have the best darn french fries :chomp: I have actually went there and got brocolli instead, but today was NOT one of those days.
I am not even gonna post my log because today was not good.
Ate three squares of hershey with almonds tonight :worried: , and i don't mean the reg. size, i mean the half lb.er! But that's as bad as it got.
I am now guzzling water :spit: Plus, i started today :worried: !
 
i have really bad urges to eat everything in sight right b4 that time of the month too. but then when i do start I have to force myself to eat anything during that whole week. Good luck & keep your chin up, it'll be ok.

1.5 mi on the treadmill, on incline at brisk walking pace. I squeezed my butt with every step :qt: ! For some reason I sweated alot this time, and I never get a sweat. I am not much of a sweater on the norm. ;)

Wow gotta try to remember everything. COuldn't get on earlier.

meal 2: little bit of slipping here: Olive Garden (my 1st time) got a chicken dish with brocolli and some sauce on it (garlic cream, probably fattening :worried: ) sauce was skimpy though, whole wheat pasta :) , ate 1 breadstick( :worried: ) and some salad. :)

meal 3: so stuffed from the lunch i had a pro shake for supper. 3 strawberries, 1/4 c. cottage cheese 1%, 1 splenda, 1 scoop whey.

I passed by a piece of candy bar many times today and wanted it, but abstained ("whew!!) :verygood:
 
Well darn it, i just got off of fitday and can't log all my eating in. I can't find like anyway to count what i ate at olive garden. Can't find whole wheat pasta, can't find breadstick. UGH!!! :mad:
 
The Olive Garden website has some nutritional breakdown for their "healthier" items. I remember having the whole wheat pasta there last year and plugging the numbers from there. Good job on stopping at just one breadstick...I suffer from all or nothing syndrome with foods like that!
