Freaking turds...

as I walk out of the locker room, to the free weight area, there is a guy doing bb curls in the power rack.... I ask him, "How many sets do you have left?" he tells me, "I dunno, I am just doig sets. ya know. what you got goin' on here?" I tell him, "Cleans." then he looks at me like I am some foreigner because he doesn't know what that is. all the whille, there is hardly anyone at the gym, and there was at least 2 curling stations OPEN. what a rat bastard.

yep i know it. There is only one squat rack in my gym and not one time have i gone in there when the pegs were set at squat level. 50% of the time they are left at waist level from somebody doing curls, 50% of the time someone is actually doing curls using the squat rack. Last time i saw someone do actual squats besides me and my training partner was about 4 months ago. Everytime i do deads or cleans I have to drag a rubber mat over where i am working or the gym owner freaks out. You would think they would have a place for a guy to do them already set up wouldnt you?

I gotta hand it to the curl guys though, they do a whole body workout. curls, leg extensions on the machine, and then a couple of sets on bench with 225 (over thier max) and at the same time the spotter gets to do his barbell rows.

Any certain reason why you would be using the power rack for cleans? Just curious...

Tell him to gas up! I sometimes do barbell curls in the squat rack because of convenience but all the while I'm watching to see if anyone needs the rack to squat. If someone has the I want to squat but he's in the rack look on I'll move before he asks. Too many shy people. Him telling you I don't know is him being a fucking jerkoff and he deserves to be treated as such. Bide your time and pay him back by giving him a larger inconvenience!

space is real tight at my gym, and this is the only place that anyone does any powerlifting or real exercises. also, I dont want to hit someone walking by when I clean the bar.

Actually, these 2 exercises being done in the Power rack are quite common. Right or Wrong, I don't care.

IMO, people can do BB curls in the Shower as long as they aren't wasting their time in there and getting in my way.

I see lots of people doing BB curls, 21's etc with the rails set at waist level. And if someone want to do squats there, they either politely ask how much longer they have as they want to do some squats as a subtle hint, or wait until they are done doing curls.

A lot of time It depends on room available in the Freeweight area as to where you do things. Of couse, you are very limited as to where you can do squats so most guys using the rack for something else will give it up.

On this note.....

When they refurbished the last gym I went to all of the PT's starting insisting that you did cleans in the cage. So seeing as the cage was quite restrictive I started slamming the bar into the nice new cage......didn't need to do cleans in the cage anymore :).

Incidentally, one of those PT's told me that their new equipment cost them only £250,000 cos he had 'connections'. Shame his 'connection' had a 100% mark up else they might have got something worth having.

I have to add that when I am using a piece of equipment I HATE for someone to LINGER after I have told them how many sets I have left. Sitting there staring at me for 4 sets is really annoying, I dont want to feel rushed...

another pet peeve is when I ask someone nicely if they are using a piece of equipment and they answer "Not yet" like I am going to wait and see if they decide to use it. I have to bite my tongue sometimes...:redhot:

"Not Yet" Means it's all yours........

If they are standing there looking at you, ask them to do something usefull and to go fill up your water bottle
