So, can I take Flax Seed oil in softgel form? Some of the posts here suggest otherwise.
Yes, Flax Oil is available in gelcaps/softgels.
Flax Oil (liquid) - less expensive than pills, short shelf-life (keeps poorly)
Flax Oil Pills - expensive, keeps ok (any product with fat can go rancid)
Whole Flax Seeds - cheap, keep well (but may need to be ground for full benefit)
Milled Flax Seeds - cheapest, keeps well (but prob. not as well as the whole seeds)
Wal-mart sells the pre-ground flax seeds.
HODGSON MILL is the brand. Comes in 12oz boxes.
The Hodgson Mill site has the 12oz boxes of Milled Gold Flax for $3.85, Milled Brown Flax for $2.55.

According to their nutritional facts, both contain 2.6g of Omega-3's per serving.
However, I suspect there is a nutritional difference between Golden & Brown flax.
For the record: Flax is beneficial, but not near as beneficial as Fish Oil (EPA/DHA).
However, I think you should take both. Omega-3's are badarse.
I've heard Flax might be high in estrogen, though.
Anyone else see any resarch on this?
