First for back...

What do you all think is a more effective start to your back workout: Deads followed by pull-ups or the other way around?

Actually both are compound exercises but I think I know what you mean. Deadlifts are tantamount to squats in terms of energy depletion in my opinion.

However, I like to pre-exhaust with machine pullovers, then hit chins, T-Bar rows, and DB rows...in that order. I've found that works best for me.

I found I'm much stronger when I do deads first and the heavier they are, the bigger my back gets, so I'd definitely go with them first.

i do some hyperextensions to warm up the lower back then some deads, i think they should be done first when you have the most energy.

Deads first IMO. I always do compound excercises first, when I'm least fatigued.

i agree, its important to perform compound movements with strict form...if you cant do a lot of pull ups, then do pull ups first. i usually switch the order every week to change things up tho.
